INGLEWOOD, Calif. - Attima scored her first stakes win in Sunday's $137,150 at Hollywood Park in such convincing style that trainer Julio Canani was baffled on what races to aim for this summer.
The 4-5 favorite, Attima led throughout and was never really threatened, winning by 1 1-4 lengths over Foxysox. Ridden by Victor Espinoza, who gave her only the slightest urging with the whip in the stretch, Attima ran 1 1-8 miles on turf in 1:47.36. Proxenia finished third in the field of seven 3-year-old fillies.
