Solano: Catch My Fancy best in Fairfield Stakes

Catch My Fancy ($5) had every reason not to win the $45,600 Fairfield Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at the Solano County Fair on Saturday.

She dumped rider Russell Baze and ran off in the post parade. She had to swerve around Brenda Meova when the pacesetter broke down at the quarter pole. She was in tight and got bumped as she split favored Yessiremychickadee and Come On Margaret in the stretch.

But she still won the six-furlong race by one-half length over River Song in 1:10.91.
