Gerald Almodovar, riding one heavy favorite and another 11-1 longshot, swept the two stakes for West Virginia-bred juveniles at Charles Town on Saturday night.

Lord of the Dance ($2.20) remained unbeaten in three career starts with an easy 5 1/4-length victory in the $45,950 Henry Mercer Stakes for colts and geldings. Lord of the Dance, trained by Eddie Householder, has now won his three races by a combined margin of 20 3/4 lengths and looms the early favorite for the Vincent Moscarelli Stakes on the Oct. 20 West Virginia Breeders' Classic program.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - It was a dream Saturday at Arlington Park for the leading connections at the meet.

A half-hour after Dreaming of Anna won the Pucker Up Stakes for owner Frank Calabrese and trainer Wayne Catalano, Dreaming of Liz won the Arlington-Washington Lassie Stakes. Dreaming of Liz's win was the third on the card for Catalano and Calabrese, giving Catalano 71 wins at the meet, two more than the previous record set by, you guessed it, Catalano in 2005.

ELMONT, N.Y. - The connections of Alexander Tango shipped their 3-year-old filly from Ireland to America in hopes of finding firm ground and a fast pace.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - Okay - now that was the Dreaming of Anna from last year.

Whatever kinks might have been in her system earlier this season, Dreaming of Anna and trainer Wayne Catalano have ironed them out. Showing the form that made her a champion filly last year at 2, Dreaming of Anna wowed the Saturday crowd at Arlington with a powerhouse 4 1/4-quarter-length win in the Grade 3, $200,000 Pucker Up Stakes.

John Grabowski collected his 3,000th career victory when he rode Diamond Head Cut ($4.80) to a two-length score in Saturday's fourth race at Finger Lakes.

Grabowski, 45, is a six-time riding champion at the western New York track. He resumed riding this season after breaking his pelvis in August 2006.

Grabowski's milestone victory came five days after he won the 80th stakes of his career aboard By the Light in the $137,925 Lady Finger Stakes.

Banjo Picker ($5.40), left as the controlling speed following the scratch of morning-line favorite Secretintelligence, dominated the $60,000 Power by Far Handicap at Philadelphia Park.

Ridden by Tara Hemmings for trainer Steve Krebs, the 7-year-old Banjo Picker opened up a two-length lead through a half-mile in 43.74 seconds and widened his advantage through the stretch to finish 6 1/2 lengths in front of 10-1 shot Obi Wan following six furlongs in 1:08.74.

Power by Leigh, the 2-1 second choice, held on for third by a head over Sonvida Red.

Electrify proved an ample replacement for his more accomplished stablemate B. B. Best when he outgamed pacesetter Finallymadeit to register a three length victory in the $50,000 Ambehaving Stakes at Calder. The win was the fourth on the day for leading jockey Elvis Trujillo.

B. B. Best, the defending champ and morning line favorite for the 1o1/16-mile Ambehaving, was scratched by trainer Eddie Plesa Jr. earlier in the day due to a minor ailment.

ELMONT, N.Y. - After missing out on two seven-figure races by a total of two lengths, Doctor Dino finally had his day to shine, outfinishing a stubborn Sunriver by a head to win Saturday's Grade 1, $500,000 Man o' War Stakes at Belmont Park.

It was 3 1/4 lengths back to Grand Couturier, who was followed in the order of finish by Trippi's Storm, Shamdinan, Yellowstone, and Marsh Side.

Tommie's Star ($12.20), sent to the front by new rider Travis Dunkelberger, held off Hands On's late charge by a nose in the $50,000 Mister Diz Stakes for Maryland-bred turf sprinters at Laurel Park.

It was the first win since August 2006 for the 4-year-old Tommie's Star, trained by Ben Feliciano Jr. Now 5 for 14 lifetime, Tommie's Star had finished second in his only other previous stakes appearance, the 2006 Maryland Million Turf Sprint.

Indyanne ($2.10) romped to a six-length victory in the $63,600 Bay Meadows Debutante.

The 2-year-old filly defeated stablemate This Side Up, covering six furlongs in 1:10.41.

Indyanne easily outsped Kooky Kelly down the backstretch with jockey David Lopez sitting still as Kooky Kelly was being hustled. Lopez was already looking between his legs for competition before approaching the turn. She pulled away from there, and Lopez gave Indyanne only one tap of the whip through the stretch.
