VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Blue Sky Holiday was a convincing winner over Infinite Wealth in the $140,480 Grade 3 British Columbia Oaks at Hastings Saturday.

With Chad Hoverson aboard, Blue Sky Holiday was never far off of an honest pace of 22.85 seconds, 47.67 and 1:13.27 set by Infinite Wealth and Answerwithvictory. Blue Sky Holiday saved ground until she moved off of the rail to make her bid going around the stretch turn. She took command of the race at the top of the stretch and then drew off to win by 1 3/4 lengths.

NEW BOSTON, Mich. - Favored Valley Loot avenged her recent loss in the Moonbeam Handicap when she drew off to win the $50,000 Farer Belle Lee Handicapap by 7 1/2 lengths at Pinnacle Race Course on Saturday. Silent Sunset was second and Half a Glance was along for third, two lengths further back in the Michigan-bred race.

Ghostly Thunder ($2.60) solidified his status as the favorite for the $125,000 West Virginia Lottery on Oct. 18 by cruising to a 6 1/2-length win in the $51,000 Millard Harrell Memorial Stakes at Charles Town.

A 3-year-old gelding based at Laurel Park with trainer Gary Capuano, Ghostly Thunder has now won his last three starts, at all Charles Town, by a combined margin of 20 1/4 lengths. Ridden by Travis Dunkelberger, Ghostly Thunder covered the seven furlongs in 1:25.12, more than a second faster than either of his previous two wins.

Terriffico needed every inch of the Presque Isle stretch Friday evening to get up to win the $75,000 Dusty Screen against seven other Pennsylvania-bred 3-year-olds. Trained by Henry Miller Jr., Terriffico was kept back early by jockey Willie Martinez, and then rallied strongly in the stretch to wear down Balian and win by a nose.

The stretch-running Cenzontle ($11.60) took advantage of a fast pace, rallying from the rear of the pack to a half-length victory over Mr. Silver in the $55,000 The Vid Stakes.

Cenzontle did not have a horse beat going around the clubhouse turn of the 7 1/2-furlong The Vid, but moved into contention under jockey Ariel Smith leaving the backstretch.

Cenzontle, a 4-year-old son of Smart Strike, raced wide turning for home, engaged Mr. Silver near midstretch, then gradually edged away.

The long-idle Wonder Mon ($8.40) ended a six-race losing streak when he rallied in the stretch to score by 6 1/4 lengths in the $50,000 Deputed Testamony Stakes at Laurel Park.

Making his first start since May 3, Wonder Mon was last of seven through the first six furlongs. He surged into contention up the inside under jockey Travis Dunkelberger, then blew past 2-1 favorite Casanova Jack and won handily in the one-mile race for Maryland-breds. The winning time was 1:37.32.

Libor Lady is a much-improved filly since she was tried on the turf.

Winless in the first six starts of her career while racing on the main track, Libor Lady ($9.60) won for the fifth time in six races since she was switched to turf sprints when she led wire to wire to capture the $61,350 Walking in Da Sun Stakes at Delaware Park.

In winning her third straight, Libor Lady finished two lengths in front of 2-1 second choice Anofficerandalady while covering five furlongs on a firm course in 56.63 seconds under her regular rider, Luis Garcia.

Queen's Plate winner Not Bourbon returns from a two-month layoff to win Woodbine's Overskate.P

Not Bourbon, this year's Queen's Plate winner, crushed older Ontario-sired opposition off a two-month layoff at Woodbine in the $125,000 Overskate Stakes.

OCEANPORT, N.J. - Hey Chub went out a winner Saturday, capturing the $75,000 Lincroft Handicap at Monmouth Park in his final race.

The Lincroft was one of 10 races for New Jersey-breds as Monmouth hosted the annual New Jersey Thoroughbred Festival before a crowd of 10,300.

After the race, owner-breeder Danny Lopez said Hey Chub would be retired to stud. The 8-year-old Hey Chub finished on a high note, earning his seventh win in 36 starts. The final victory pushed his earnings to $441,755.

ELMONT, N.Y. - A day that started terribly for trainer Bob Baffert got better in the afternoon as Indian Blessing rolled to a 6 1/4-length victory in Saturday's Grade 2, $150,000 Gallant Bloom Handicap at Belmont Park.

The victory came several hours after the Baffert-trained Tough Tiz's Sis suffered a career-ending injury during a morning workout here. Tough Tiz's Sis, who won the Grade 1 Ruffian here on Sept. 6, sustained a condylar fracture to her right foreleg and has been retired.
