ELMONT, N.Y. - The connections of Kodiak Kowboy didn't come into Saturday's thinking of using it as a prep for the Breeders' Cup Sprint. But their horse gave them a few reasons to reconsider by running down Fabulous Strike in the final 70 yards to win the $400,000 Vosburgh by a half-length at rain-soaked Belmont Park.
Fabulous Strike, who took over from the pace-setting Go Go Shoot turning for home, finished second, 3 1/2 lengths clear of Munnings. It was eight lengths back to Go Go Shoot. Peace Chant was scratched.
