Discreetly Mine romps in Amsterdam

Unzip Me cruises in Royal North

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Southern California shipper Unzip Me ($3.40) proved a comfortable winner under Joe Talamo in the Grade 3, $157,400 Royal North Stakes at Woodbine Monday.

It was the sixth score in the last seven starts for Unzip Me, who pressed the front-running Mother Russia through quick fractions of 22.37 and 44.83 seconds in the six-furlong turf sprint. Talamo sat chilly on Unzip Me until just before the eighth pole, where she made the lead before drawing clear to prevail by two lengths in 1:08.05.

Miss Keller is latest from Attfield to invade New York

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – With two New York stakes victories under his belt already this year, the Canadian-based trainer Roger Attfield will go for a hat trick of sorts when he ships Miss Keller to Saratoga for Wednesday’s $70,000 De La Rose Stakes.

Attfield has won the Grade 2 New York Stakes at Belmont with Lady Shakespeare and the Grade 2 Lake George Stakes here with Fantastic Shirl. The De La Rose is an overnight stakes scheduled for one mile on the inner turf.

Northlands stewards revoke Tracy's training license

Trainer Greg Tracy had his license revoked by the board of stewards at Northlands Park after testing positive for cocaine.

Tracy, 48, has 943 career wins and was in second place in the standings at Northlands with 31 wins. He was operating under a probationary license with certain conditions imposed. The stewards ruled that Tracy violated the conditions and revoked his license. When the current meet started Tracy was serving a 90-day suspension for refusing to provide a urine sample at Turf Paradise.

At least six lined up for Clement Hirsch

DEL MAR, Calif. – Zenyatta is likely to have six rivals in the $300,000 Clement Hirsch Stakes at Del Mar on Saturday, if the undefeated two-time champion starts in the Grade 1 race.

While trainer John Shirreffs and owners Jerry and Ann Moss have yet to commit Zenyatta to the Grade 1 Hirsch, Shirreffs has mapped out a schedule for Zenyatta to be ready for the race.

Stormin Rae must relax in Graduation Stakes

DEL MAR, Calif. – The illness that contributed to Stormin Rae finishing second in his debut in June was long gone when he beat maidens by more than four lengths at Hollywood Park last month.

The maiden race win pushed Stormin Rae to the fore of California’s 2-year-old male division as the group approaches its first stakes of the year in Southern California in Wednesday’s $100,000 Graduation Stakes over 5 1/2 furlongs at Del Mar.

Dancingall Theway out for third straight win

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – A sharp Dancingall Theway will seek his third consecutive score Wednesday night at Woodbine in the $125,000 Shepperton Stakes. The 6 1/2-furlong sprint for Ontario-sired runners has lured a good field that also includes the 2008 Queen’s Plate winner, Not Bourbon, along with Grazettes Landing and Paso Doble.

Dancingall Theway spent last winter at Gulfstream before returning to the local scene, and was victorious in a six and a half-furlong optional claimer in his next-to-last outing on the Polytrack.
