ELMONT, N.Y. - You Go West Girl saved her best for last, unleashing a powerful stretch kick under Jose Lezcano that brought her from 10th to first in Saturday’s $125,000 Ticonderoga Stakes for New York-bred fillies and mares at Belmont Park.

In recording a repeat victory in the Ticonderoga, You Go West Girl beat Chorus Music by two lengths, spoiling what could have been a perfect day for trainer John Terranova, who won the first three races on Saturday’s 10-race program. It was a half-length back to Exclusive Scheme in third.

ELMONT, N.Y. - The Friend or Foe trainer John Kimmel had hoped to see perform in the marquee 3-year-old races at Saratoga finally revealed himself in Saturday’s marquee event on New York Showcase Day at Belmont Park.

ELMONT, N.Y. - The third time was the charm for Meese Rocks, who held off a late runs from R Betty Graybull and My Dinah to win Saturday's $125,000 Iroquois Stakes, after settling for second in two recent attempts against those rivals in seven-furlong overnight stakes.

Meese Rocks grabbed the early lead under Ramon Dominguez through fractions of 22.50 and 45.91 seconds, shook off challenges around the turn to remain clear in midstretch after six furlongs in 1:10.50, and held sway to score by 2 1/4 lengths.

ELMONT, N.Y. - Bandbox stumbled at the start and drifted out at the finish, but he performed well enough in between to cruise to a 1 1/4-length victory in Saturday’s $100,000 Sleepy Hollow Stakes for New York-bred juvenile males at Belmont Park.

Lovely Leean took advantage of a ground saving trip under Orlando Mojica to win the $88,350 Indiana Stallion at Hoosier Park on Saturday afternoon.

Trained by Ricky Short, Lovely Leean was kept on the rail and was back early. Mojica got through along the rail in the stretch and Lovely Leean drew clear late to win by 1 1/2 lengths. The favored A little Order led late, but finished second, four lengths in front of Cindy Sweet Cindy in third.

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Rahy’s Attorney ($3.40) won the $125,000 Bunty Lawless Stakes for the third time Saturday at Woodbine, in front-running style.

Rahy’s Attorney was reunited with jockey Slade Callaghan, who piloted him to victory in the Grade 1 Woodbine Mile in 2008. Callaghan hadn’t ridden him since they finished seventh in the ’09 Woodbine Mile.

Trainer Ronny Werner is hoping that Bandora is back to her old self when she faces a field of 10 other allowance foes, including two entries, in the feature at Parx Racing on Tuesday. The 6 1/2-furlong event is for fillies and mares who have not won a race other than maiden, claiming, or starter or have never won two races lifetime.
