ARCADIA, Calif. – Turbulent Descent was described by trainer Mike Puype as “totally ready” for her 3-year-old debut in Saturday’s $250,000 Las Virgenes Stakes at Santa Anita after her final prerace workout at Hollywood Park on Sunday.

The unbeaten winner of three starts last year, the most recent of which was the Grade 1 Hollywood Starlet Stakes on Dec. 11, Turbulent Descent will be heavily favored in the Grade 1 Las Virgenes, which is run over a mile.

Cell Line Forever rallied from last to capture Saturday’s $25,000 Glendale Handicap at Turf Paradise, leading a 1-2-3-4 finish for horses exiting the Jan. 8 Kachina Handicap which was run on the main track.

Schramsberg is emerging as one of the Southwest’s most significant turf horses after winning his second major stakes in the region in Saturday night’s Grade 3, $200,000 Connally Turf Cup at Sam Houston Race Park..
