DEL MAR, Calif. - The $12,500 claim of Lordgivemealift from Saturday’s 10th race was voided by Del Mar stewards on Sunday because trainer Jeff Metz submitted three claims in the race, on his behalf or as agent for another trainer.

Hammers Bullet, prominent throughout, ran down the pacesetting Big Blue Caboose for a three-quarter-length victory in Monday's $75,000 Manitoba Derby at Assiniboia Downs.
Trained by Clary Brinson, Hammers Bullet had checked in from Minnesota to finish third in the six-furlong Golden Boy and returned to capture the 1 1/16-mile Harry Jeffrey, which is the major local prep for the 1 1/8-mile Manitoba Derby for 3-year-olds.
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Business is up slightly at the current Saratoga meet when compared with the first 10 days of the 2010 season.
Attendance for the first 10 days was 201,400, up 1.3 percent from 198,857 last year. That included a Sunday giveaway announced crowd of 40,974 compared with a Thursday giveaway crowd of 29,697 during the same 10-day span in 2010.
