OZONE PARK, N.Y. - Having watched Unbridled Bomber put in two solid efforts in succession, trainer Jim Ryerson said he won’t mess with what’s been working. Meaning, he won’t wheel the 3-year-old back in the $150,000 Discovery Stakes here on Nov. 27, but instead will wait to return him to stakes company in the $150,000 Queens County at Aqueduct on Dec. 31.

OZONE PARK, N.Y. - When Neural Network made a successful debut on Sunday at Aqueduct, it was the 11th 2-year-old winner sent out by trainer Chad Brown in New York since Oct. 14.

On Sunday morning, before Neural Network - a son of Cloud Computing - won his debut by five lengths, Brown said the majority of those babies won’t run again until 2023. The one exception is Liguria, who could ship cross-country for the Grade 3, $100,000 Jimmy Durante Stakes at Del Mar on Dec. 3.

Good Sam, who won the Tempted Stakes on Nov. 6, had a minor procedure to clean up an ankle chip.

OZONE PARK, N.Y. - Battle Bling, winner of the Grade 3 Turnback the Alarm here on Nov. 4, is being pointed to the Grade 3, $200,000 Go for Wand Stakes here on Dec. 3, trainer Rob Atras said Sunday.

Though the Turnback the Alarm was Battle Bling’s second stakes win at 1 1/8 miles, Atras feels that shorter distances - a mile to 1 1/16 miles - might actually better for the 4-year-old daughter of Vancouver. The Go for Wand is run as a one-turn mile.

Jockey Rafael Bejarano will be wintering at the Oaklawn Park meet, which opens Dec. 9, agent Julio Espinoza said on Friday. The rider is currently based in Kentucky.

Bejarano will be riding at Oaklawn on a regular basis for the first time in his career. He has traveled to the meet for stakes and has won two runnings of the Arkansas Derby, the Apple Blossom with Plum Pretty, and the Fantasy with Blind Luck.

OZONE PARK, N.Y. - Among the 279 horses who put in timed workouts Friday morning at Belmont Park - as trainers tried to beat the rain that was forecast later in the day - were Mind Control, Zandon, and Julia Shining.

Mind Control, a two-time Grade 1 winner who is pointing to the Grade 1 Cigar Mile on Dec. 3, worked a half-mile in 49.00 seconds going in company with the 3-year-old maiden winner Gasoline. Mind Control got his last quarter in 23.85 second and galloped out five furlongs in 1:01.97 and six furlongs in 1:14.47.

OZONE PARK, N.Y. - The sky was definitely gray and the remaining leaves were somewhat brown at Belmont Park on Friday morning, and trainer Shug McGaughey was doing a little California dreaming.

After Celestial City worked a solid half-mile in 48.81 seconds over the Belmont Park turf course Friday morning, McGaughey is strongly considering shipping the horse cross-country for the Grade 1, $400,000 Hollywood Derby at Del Mar on Dec. 3.

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Pizza Bianca, the 2021 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner, did not attain her reserve at the Fasig-Tipton November sale on Sunday and has been shipped back to trainer Christophe Clement at Belmont Park.

It is expected to that Pizza Bianca will remain in training for her 4-year-old season, according to Bradley Weisbord, who was the consignor of the filly for owner Bobby Flay at the sale.

Clement said he may look to run Pizza Bianca again this year if a race make sense.

“Let’s get her to a breeze and see where we’re at,” Clement said.

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Arctic Arrogance, the 4 1/2-length winner of the Sleepy Hollow Stakes for New York-breds on Oct. 30, will make his next start in the Grade 2, $250,000 Remsen Stakes at Aqueduct on Dec. 3, trainer Linda Rice said Thursday.

Arctic Arrogance, owned and bred by Chester and Mary Broman, is a son of Frosted, runner-up in the 2014 Remsen.

OZONE PARK, N.Y. - Trainer Bruno Tessore, coming off a decent Monmouth Park summer meet, hopes to make an impact in New York this fall and winter.

Tessore, 34, has brought an 11-horse string to New York for the Aqueduct fall and winter stands. Tessore, like all trainers based in New York this time of year, is stabled at Belmont Park.

“I got the chance with a couple of nice horses, so I decided to come here and try to give it a shot and see what I can do here,” Tessore, who won six races from 28 starters at Monmouth, said Thursday morning.

A handful of graded stakes winners that have contributed to trainer Phil D’Amato’s first $10 million season have earned 30-day vacations before they return to campaign next year.

Desert Dawn, Gold Phoenix, Comanche Country, and Leggs Galore will be turned out for a month. If they pick up next year where they left off, 2023 could be another banner season for D’Amato, whose $10,086,190 purse earnings ranks eighth in the country and is the highest U.S. purse total among California trainers.
