ARCADIA, Calif. - Fanticola, Masochistic, and Prize Exhibit won the biggest races of their careers at Santa Anita on Saturday.

Fanticola won the $201,000 Royal Heroine Stakes, a Grade 2 for fillies and mares at a mile on turf. Masochistic won his Grade 1 debut in the $300,500 Triple Bend Stakes at seven furlongs. Prize Exhibit won the $101,000 Senorita Stakes, a Grade 3 for 3-year-old fillies at a mile on turf.

Each is likely to run in races of equal or greater value at Del Mar later this summer.

ARCADIA, Calif. – Last winter, owners Kosta and Pete Hronis and trainer John Sadler were looking for a prospect for the leading races for older horses in California through the year. When they reached a deal to acquire Hard Aces, they bought much more.

They bought a horse bound for the Breeders’ Cup Classic at Keeneland on Oct. 31.

Hard Aces won his first graded stakes in Saturday’s $501,500 Gold Cup at Santa Anita. The race is part of the Breeders’ Cup Win and You’re In program, offering a fees-paid berth to the BC Classic.

Hard Aces has a clear autumn goal.

ARCADIA, Calif. - American Pharoah did not race at Santa Anita on Saturday, but he was the star of a 10-race program that included four graded stakes.

Between the seventh and eighth races, American Pharoah was paraded in the walking ring and onto the racetrack before an enthusiastic crowd that track officials estimated at 20,000. In some places on the path from the walking ring to the racetrack, racing fans of all ages were lined up six to eight deep to get a close-up look at the 2015 Triple Crown winner.

Ivan Fallunovalot is gearing up for a fall campaign that could include stakes at Del Mar and Remington Park, trainer Tom Howard said Friday. The multiple stakes winner’s options include the Bing Crosby as well as the David M. Vance and the Remington Park Sprint Cup. Ivan Fallunovalot is based at Lone Star Park.

“We really don’t have solid plans yet,” said Howard, who trains the horse for Lewis E. Matthews Jr. “We’ve got some different directions we can go.”

ARCADIA, Calif. – More than 2 1/2 years after his last start, Kung Fu Mambo won his American debut in an optional claimer at a mile Thursday, a win that left trainer Peter Miller considering a start July 25 in the $200,000 San Diego Handicap at Del Mar.

Kung Fu Mambo, a 6-year-old Argentine-bred, won the Group 1 Derby Nacional in Peru in 2012 in his final start in South America. He was beset with injuries that postponed his American debut until Thursday. Ridden by Mike Smith, Kung Fu Mambo ($33.20) led throughout and won by 4 1/4 lengths over the 3-year-old Desert Dynamo.

ARCADIA, Calif. – The 2-year-old filly Gomo gave owners Paul and Zillah Reddam a remarkable eighth win with a juvenile in the last two months when the filly led throughout a one-mile turf race for maidens Thursday.

Ridden by Mario Gutierrez for trainer Doug O’Neill, Gomo ($2.80) never was urged through the stretch and won by 5 1/4 lengths in 1:39.90.

ARCADIA, Calif. – Prospect Park, second in the Grade 3 Affirmed Stakes at Santa Anita on June 7, will be ridden by Tyler Baze in the $350,000 Los Alamitos Derby on July 4, trainer Clifford Sise said Thursday.

The Grade 2 Los Alamitos Derby will be run at 1 1/8 miles and is the richest race of the two-week summer meeting at Los Alamitos, which runs from Thursday through July 12.

Baze replaces Kent Desormeaux, who is scheduled to ride Texas Red, the winner of the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile last November, in the $500,000 Dwyer Stakes at Belmont Park on July 4.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Trainer Dave Forster is looking forward to running Susan’s Day and Ambleside Park in the $50,000 Supernaturel on Wednesday at Hastings. The 1 1/16-mile race is the first middle-distance stakes race for 3-year-old fillies at the meet, and Forster has been looking at the Supernaturel for both horses since the stakes schedule was announced earlier this year.

“I think they both want to go long, and I like the way they are both coming into the race,” said Forster. “I didn’t push them early, and they seem to be really coming around now.”

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Trainer Bill Kaplan will have a decision to make between now and Wednesday, when entries are taken and post positions drawn for the rich Summit of Speed card on July 5: whether to keep his promising 3-year-old filly Naval Command against her own kind in the Grade 3 Azalea or try her with older horses in the richer, more prestigious Win and You’re In Breeders’ Cup race, the Grade 2 Princess Rooney.

ARCADIA, Calif. – Triple Crown hero American Pharoah will be paraded through the paddock and on the racetrack between races at Santa Anita on Saturday.

American Pharoah is scheduled to parade on the racetrack between the seventh and eighth races on a 10-race program that begins at 1 p.m. Pacific. American Pharoah will start his tour in the paddock at approximately 4:30 p.m. He will be paraded through the walking ring and then through the tunnel onto the racetrack.
