LEXINGTON, Ky. – Found, the Breeders’ Cup Turf-winning 3-year-old filly, left for a return trip to Ireland at 6 a.m. Sunday but will get a chance to build on her late-season success during a 2016 campaign that conceivably could end with a repeat bid in the Turf.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Breeders’ Cup Mile winner Tepin came out of the race in good shape and will train on for a 2016 campaign, trainer Mark Casse said Sunday morning at Keeneland.

At some point in the near future, Tepin will be shipped to Casse’s Moonshadow Farm in Ocala, Fla., and get about 30 days off, just like she did this past winter. Casse said he would point Tepin to the Distaff Turf Mile, a race she won this year, as an early-season goal.

“I haven’t figured out yet how we’re going to get there, but the race Derby Day is what we’ll probably target,” said Casse.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – While most of the top older horses who raced in 2015 are heading to the breeding shed or retirement, Effinex, runner-up to American Pharoah in Saturday’s $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic at Keeneland, will remain in training for a 2016 campaign.

“Absolutely, he’s running next year,” said Russell Cohen, a veterinarian who bred Effinex for his mother Bernice’s Tri-Bone Stable. “He’s sound as a dollar bill. He deserves it. His family deserves it. And you know what? He’s a lot of fun, so why not?”

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Catch a Glimpse, the winner of Friday’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, was doing well Saturday morning, trainer Mark Casse said, along with stablemates Airoforce and Conquest Daddyo, who ran second and fourth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf.

Catch a Glimpse earned an 85 Beyer Speed Figure for her Juvenile Fillies Turf victory, in which she rated just off the pace, kicked clear in early stretch, and outlasted late bids from runner-up Alice Springs and third-place Nemoralia.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Todd Pletcher certainly was going to enjoy the victories recorded Friday by Liam’s Map in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile and Race Day in the Grade 2 Fayette at Keeneland.

But when he allowed himself to look to the future, he did so with some trepidation, knowing that Liam’s Map and Race Day, as well as several of his other older male dirt graded stakes winners, are heading to the breeding shed in 2016.

DEL MAR, Calif. – Prospect Park, the winner of the Grade 3 La Jolla Handicap at Del Mar in August, has been turned out for 30 days because of a recent illness, trainer Clifford Sise said.

Prospect Park was being considered for the Twilight Derby at Santa Anita on Oct. 24 when he was taken out of training. He has been sent to owners Marty and Pam Wygod’s River Edge Farm, Sise said.

Prospect Park will miss the $300,000 Hollywood Derby at Del Mar on Nov. 28, one of two Grade 1 races at the track’s autumn meeting.

DEL MAR, Calif. – Pacific Heat has shown rapid improvement in her two starts and will run next in the Grade 1 Starlet Stakes at Los Alamitos on Dec. 12.

After beating maidens at Los Alamitos in September, Pacific Heat won her stakes debut in the $201,000 Golden State Juvenile Fillies for California-breds on Thursday, the opening day of the Del Mar autumn meeting.

Ridden by Joe Talamo, Pacific Heat closed from fourth to take the lead in early stretch and drew off to win the seven-furlong race by a commanding 5 1/4 lengths.

DEL MAR, Calif. – Iron Fist finished second in the Pennsylvania Derby on Sept. 19, which could reasonably have led to a start in a Breeders’ Cup race at Keeneland this weekend.

Instead, trainer Jerry Hollendorfer has taken a more low-key approach. He has entered Iron Fist in an optional claimer at a mile at Del Mar on Sunday, a race that could be a prep for the $150,000 Native Diver Handicap at 1 1/8 miles here Nov. 28.

“We might look at that if he does well in this race,” Hollendorfer said. “We want to get him in a positive position.”

On Thursday, Sunland Park in New Mexico announced the dates for its major stakes, including the Grade 3, $800,000 Sunland Derby, which will be run March 20. The 1 1/8-mile race, which Firing Line won this year, will again share a card with the $200,000 Sunland Park Oaks.

Sunland opens a 72-date mixed meet for Thoroughbreds and Quarter Horses on Dec. 18. The season runs through April 19.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - When Tale of S’avall missed a workout Sunday at Belmont Park due to sore feet, trainer Barclay Tagg held out some hope that he could still make Saturday’s $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile if things turned around quickly during the week in Kentucky.
