Eagles Flight, a 3-year-old half-brother to 2022 Horse of the Year Flightline, has resumed workouts for the first time since early June with the hope he can resume his career at the Santa Anita winter-spring meeting that begins on Dec. 26.
Trained by John Sadler, Eagles Flight worked three furlongs in 35 seconds at Santa Anita on Thursday. On Oct. 10, the colt worked a quarter-mile in 23.20 seconds.
“He’s going to work every Thursday going into Santa Anita,” Sadler said.
Free Like a Girl emerged from her win in the $100,000 Magnolia on Oct. 11 at Delta Downs in good order and will likely see stakes action in December at Oaklawn Park.

Taylor has lost 18 horses to EIA in the last month, 12 at Los Alamitos and six at Lone Star Park in Texas. The first positives were detected Sept. 24, according to the racing board.

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Soul of an Angel, among the leading contenders for the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint, breezed three furlongs in 35.40 seconds before galloping out a half-mile in 48.20 over a fast track Tuesday at Gulfstream Park in tandem with stablemate General Ledger.
The work was the first for Soul of an Angel since she earned an automatic berth into the Filly and Mare Sprint by virtue of her impressive 3 1/4-length victory over odds-on Beth’s Dream in the Grade 3 Princess Rooney Stakes here Sept. 21.
