Ensued might be contesting a race shorter than 1800m for the first time in Hong Kong on Sunday afternoon (30 March) at Sha Tin, but jockey Karis Teetan is confident John Size’s lightly raced stayer can impress in the HK$5.35 million G2 Chairman’s Trophy (1600m).

Epsom Derby-winning jockey Richard Kingscote snared riding honours at Sha Tin’s all-dirt meeting on Wednesday night (26 March) with a treble, finding success with a perfect three wins from three rides.

Apprentice Britney Wong is relishing the competition riding in Hong Kong and the season’s leading jockey on Sha Tin’s dirt course is aiming to extend her buffer with eight rides at tomorrow night’s (Wednesday, 26 March) nine-race all-dirt programme.
Indentured to trainer David Hall, Wong has an unmatched seven wins on the dirt this term ahead of Luke Ferraris (five wins), Matthew Chadwick (four) and Vincent Ho (four). The 25-year-old is the first female apprentice to ride in Hong Kong since Kei Chiong.
Cap Ferrat, winless in 13 starts in Australia in 2023 and 2024 and in three starts in Hong Kong since mid-December, delivered a shocking result with a nose win in Sunday’s $3.34 million Hong Kong Derby for 4-year-olds at Sha Tin Racecourse in Hong Kong.
Cap Ferrat ($53.40) won a three-horse photo. My Wish (5-1) rallied to finish a close second, a head in front of 5-1 Packing Angel. Rubylot, the 9-5 favorite, was beaten 1 1/4 lengths in the field of 14.

Craig Williams produced one of the finest rides of a decorated career to guide Cap Ferrat to a narrow victory in a gripping HK$26 million BMW Hong Kong Derby (2000m) on a day of triumph for Francis Lui at Sha Tin on Sunday (23 March).
Marhoona, who ran for the first time on Feb. 7, held off late threats from Wodeton and an unlucky favorite in Tempted to win Saturday’s Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes for Southern Hemisphere 2-year-olds at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse in Sydney, Australia.
Ridden by Damian Lane, Marhoona closed from sixth between horses in a field of 16 to reach the front more than a sixteenth of a mile from the finish of the six-furlong race.
A hint of trouble in the stretch kept Johannes Brahms from a win in the $1.67 million Hong Kong Classic Cup at Sha Tin Racecourse on May 2, but leaves him a serious contender in Sunday’s $3.34 million Hong Kong Derby for 4-year-olds at Sha Tin.
Johannes Brahms raced behind rivals in the final quarter-mile of the Hong Kong Classic Cup before finishing well. He was beaten 1 1/2 lengths by Rubylot, who is expected to be favored in the Hong Kong Derby.
