As of 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, the final session's leading price was $135,000 for a Malibu Moon colt out of Picasso's Girl. Marathon Farms signed for the colt, consigned by Francis and Barbara Vanlangendonck's Summerfield agency. The colt's dam is a daughter of Broad Brush and the Grade 3 winner True Affair, and this colt is her first foal.
POMONA, Calif. - A colt by the young sire High Demand sold for $290,000 at Tuesday's Barretts California October yearling sale, topping the one-day event, which exceeded organizers' expectations.
The sale, which primarily comprised California-breds, saw 207 horses sell for $5,239,400, an average of $25,311. The median price was $17,000. There were 76 horses bought back and 40 horses withdrawn.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Jess Jackson, a founder of the Kendall-Jackson Winery and a prominent buyer of expensive bloodstock at auction in the last several years, has sued some of his early advisers, alleging fraud in a number of transactions, including one in which Jackson purchased Afleet Alex's dam, Maggy Hawk, for $750,000.
Fasig-Tipton Kentucky will begin Kentucky's breeding stock auction season on Nov. 6 with 189 horses in its catalog, including the dam of undefeated Grade 1 winner Lost in the Fog, Cloud Break, and the Grade 1-winning mare Riskaverse.
The one-session sale will begin at 4 p.m. with weanlings, followed by in-foal mares, broodmare prospects, and fillies and mares in training. In addition to Cloud Break, the catalog also features Contrive, the dam of runaway Matron winner Folklore, and the dams of Grade 1 winners Bandini, Bellamy Road, Declan's Moon, Lion Heart, and Toccet.
Fasig-Tipton Midlantic's Eastern fall yearling sale, expanded this year from two days to three, entered its second session Tuesday at Timonium, Md., with eight horses selling early in the day for $100,000 or more.
By 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Fasig-Tipton was reporting a sale-leading price of $290,000 for a Touch Gold colt out of Georgia K. Sold by Thornmar, the colt went to Wensleydale Farm. He is a half-brother to Grade 1-placed stakes winner Aggadan and to stakes winner Love You Madly.
A colt by High Demand was purchased for $290,000 at Tuesday's Barretts California October yearling sale, bringing the highest price in the first three hours of the one-day sale.
The High Demand colt was bought by trainer John Sadler, agent, who said he was acting on behalf of a newly formed syndicate of existing racehorse owners. Golden Eagle Farm of Ramona, Calif., consigned the colt, who is from the first crop of High Demand, whose oldest foals are yearlings.
The colt is out of the unraced Kingmambo mare Cover Letter.
Two-time Grade 1 winner Megahertz will sell at auction at Keeneland's upcoming November breeding stock sale, Taylor Made Farm announced Monday.
Megahertz, who has earned $2.2 million and won 13 stakes, will join champion Ashado and the Dr. Carter mare Cloud Break, dam of undefeated Grade 1 winner Lost in the Fog, in the Taylor Made consignment.
Megahertz is scheduled to run next in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf at Belmont on Oct. 29. She will sell at Keeneland as Hip No. 47 on Nov. 7, at the auction's opening session.
