Mission Impazible to stand at Sequel Stallions in New York

Multiple Grade 2 winner Mission Impazible will be retired by Twin Creeks Racing Stable after his planned start in the Clark Handicap on November 23 at Churchill Downs and will begin his stallion career in 2013 at Becky Thomas’ and Dennis Narlinger’s Sequel Stallions in Hudson, N.Y. A stud fee will be announced at a later date.

Bob and John moves to Highcliff in New York

Grade 1 winner Bob and John will stand at Highcliff Stallions at Mill Creek in Stillwater, N.Y., for the 2013 breeding season, with a fee to be announced. The 2006 Wood Memorial Stakes winner will continue to stand as a partnership between Magnolia Racing and Pin Oak Stud and will join fellow Magnolia Stable stallion Congaree at the New York farm located near Saratoga Springs.

Keeneland sale: American Lady fetches $350,000

The stakes-winning filly American Lady raised the bar during the fourth session of the Keeneland November breeding stock sale on Friday, selling for $350,000 to Castleton Lyons to establish a new high price at the session.

A 4-year-old Stormy Atlantic filly, American Lady was offered as a racing or broodmare prospect by Hill 'n' Dale Sales Agency. Gabriel Duignan, who signed the ticket on behalf of Castleton Lyons, said the filly is likely to be retired and bred in 2013.

Desert Party, Girolamo to be shown at Darley through January

Young stallions Desert Party and Girolamo will be available for viewing at Darley's Jonabell location in Lexington, Ky., through Jan. 11 before shipping to stand the 2013 breeding season at Becky Thomas' Sequel Stallions in Hudson, N.Y.

Desert Party, who began his stud career in 2011, stood at Jonabell in 2012 for a fee of $10,000. A 6-year-old Street Cry stallion and Grade 2 winner, Desert Party has 15 weanlings offered at the Keeneland November breeding stock sale, including an $85,000 purchase out of the Kris S mare Lil Cozette on Wednesday.

Boys At Tosconova to stand for $5,000 at Questroyal North

Grade 1 winner Boys At Tosconova will begin his stud career in 2013 at Questroyal North in Stillwater, N.Y., for a fee of $5,000 live foal. The 4-year-old son of Officer is owned by a partnership of Questroyal Stud, Gus Schoenborn, and Taylor Made Stallions and will be syndicated.

Gainesway: Tapit to stand for $125,000 in 2013

Gainesway in Lexington, Ky.,  released 2013 stud fees for its 10-stallion roster on Friday, and kept Tapit’s fee at $125,000, the same as 2012, while it adds two new stallions, recent Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile winner Tapizar and multiple Grade 1 winner To Honor and Serve.

Keeneland sale: Consistent prices topped by pair of $300,000-plus mares

Session four of the Keeneland November breeding stock sale continued the pattern set by Day 3 of consistent prices with few outliers.

As of mid-session, Friday’s session-topper was Four Gifts, a 6-year-old Even the Score mare who sold to Barry and Judith Becker for $340,000. Indian Creek, agent, consigned the mare, who sold in foal to Hard Spun.

Keeneland sale: Four Gifts, Mighty Caroline lead the way early at $300,000-plus

Two Grade 3-winning broodmares sold for prices in excess of $300,000 to pace the action during the first three hours of Friday's fourth session of the Keeneland November breeding stock sale.

Four Gifts, consigned by Indian Creek, agent, led the way early, with Barry and Judith Becker going to $340,000 to acquire the mare. Just behind was Mighty Caroline, purchased by Adena Springs Farm from the consignment of Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales Agency for $330,000.

Keeneland sale: Eyeofthehurricane sells to Wests for $475,000

The last horse through the ring during Thursday’s third session of the Keeneland November breeding stock sale made sure the day closed on a high note, when Eyeofthehurricane sold to Ben Glass, bloodstock agent for owners Gary and Mary West, for $475,000.

Glass said he had an inside advantage on what the 8-year-old Storm Cat mare could produce, because the Wests own Eyeofthehurricane’s second foal, a yearling by Bernardini. The mare, who is in foal to Smart Strike, will join the Wests’s broodmare band at Dell Ridge Farm in Lexington, Ky.
