Multiple graded stakes winner and Florida-based stallion Chapel Royal, sire of the 2011 Korean Horse of the Year, has been sold to the Korean Thoroughbred Breeders Association and will stand in that country in 2013.

The 11-year-old Montbrook horse entered stud in 2005 at Coolmore's Ashford Stud in Versailles, Ky. He moved to Signature Stallions in Reddick, Fla., in 2009, and stood there for a fee of $10,000 in 2012.

A federal judge in Australia ruled on a case Wednesday that could have global implications for the Thoroughbred breeding industry, upholding the prohibition of artificial insemination for registered Thoroughbreds.

Kentucky-based stallions Pioneerof the Nile and Maimonides will relocate to WinStar Farm in Versailles, Ky., for the 2013 season, majority owner Ahmed Zayat announced Tuesday. Both young stallions previously stood at Vinery Ltd. in Lexington, Ky.

Pioneerof the Nile, a two-time Grade 1 winner whose first foals will be 2-year-olds in 2013, will stand for $15,000 when the foal stands and nurses, the same fee he stood for in 2012. Maimonides, whose first foals will also race in 2013, will stand for $2,500, down from his 2012 fee of $3,500 at Vinery.

Lane's End will host an open house for breeders daily from Saturday, Jan. 5 through Wednesday, Jan. 9 at its stallion complex in Versailles, Ky.

All of the Lane's End stallions will be available for inspection from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. No appointment is necessary. Food and drinks will be served.

Barbara Banke’s Stonestreet Farm operation has purchased Vinery Ltd.’s training facility in Summerfield, Fla., Vinery’s president, Tom Ludt, confirmed Tuesday morning.

The 220-acre property, which was sold for an undisclosed price, will now be known as Stonestreet Training and Rehabilitation Center.

Several of Stonestreet’s major stakes winners have been developed at the training facility in recent years, including 2011 champion juvenile filly My Miss Aurelia and Grade 1 winner Dreaming of Julia.

Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense, new to Darley Japan for 2013, will stand for 4.5 million yen, or about $53,547, to lead the Hokkaido facility’s stallion roster for next season.

The 8-year-old Street Cry horse is among three new stallions for Darley Japan in 2013. Street Sense began his stud career in 2008 at Darley at Jonabell Farm in Lexington, Ky., where he stood for $40,000 in 2012.
