Trainer: Peter Miller
Last race: Aug. 24, 4th
Finish: 2nd by 1 1/2
Beyer: 50
Debut 2-year-old colt had tough trip as favorite in turf sprint. Not quick early, steadied in traffic into turn, re-rallied wide into lane, finished evenly. Promising debut considering the trouble.
12:40 MTH 1st SOCIAL D (#6, 12-1) is worth another shot despite the fact that he was well off the board in his lone turf try to date, as he was close up from the start in that race, which featured some fast early splits; should be a price in the opener on this New Jersey Thoroughbred Festival card. -Kenny Peck | Get PPs for this race

If no opinion is better than a bad opinion this space should have been left blank last week. While last week’s opinions were garbage, they’re also by now just another bunch of sentences heaped onto the digital trash pile. It’s Travers Saturday. Time for more opinions.
Travers
Watching workout videos for the third-most important 1 1/4-mile dirt race in North America has been an enjoyable exercise. We’ve got some good workers in the Travers. Even National Treasure, a horse I don’t fancy though a key pace element, has been breezing with aplomb.
