We’ll see if Candied can put up a fight against Thorpedo Anna in the Coaching Club American Oaks – the operative three-letter word being “see” rather than “bet.” And while Oversubscribed got a sweet setup in the Wild Applause, for me she’s a very likely Lake George winner at considerably lower odds than her morning line.
Out at Del Mar, an 11-letter word – inscrutable – describes the stakes action. And while Mindframe radiated value at 5-1 in the Belmont Stakes, his price plummets as a likely winner of the Haskell Stakes.

I’m generally against the fillies exiting the Cupecoy’s Joy division of this series on June 14 at Aqueduct. A two-turn one-mile event is a very different sort of race than the 6-furlong configuration of that prior stakes in the series. There was also very little turf form among the runners going in, and I think this is a tougher spot. Soloshot (#3) barely got up with a perfect trip, but I’m not convinced that she’s going to appreciate the added distance.
The 2-year-old season has begun in earnest, the racing world year after year cycling ever onward, bouncy juveniles carrying their humans’ grand visions of Breeders’ Cups, 3-year-old classics. The hopes here go no further than Saturday stakes.
Didia could have gotten a solid call in the Diana, but her price drops from the ridiculously high one in the Grade 1 New York, and while she can win without a perfect trip, Didia did get one last month.
