RACE 1: REGISTER (#5)

Race 6: MY SEA COTTAGE was protected by waiver when wiring $35K nonwinners-of-two rivals Dec. 8. His tactical speed should come in handy in this $50K starter allowance. SKI PATROL was much farther back than usual early before closing for fourth when coming off the bench in his turf debut in an N1X/$25K mile in early December, a race he probably needed.

Race 9: RED KNIGHT was in solid 1 1/2-mile form prior to a wide 11th-place finish last time out in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Turf at Keeneland. He runs well fresh and gets Eclipse Award-winning rider Irad Ortiz Jr. ABAAN figures to lead the way with the classy veteran CHANNEL MAKER tracking him throughout.

RACE 5: PATTY H (#6) 

On a major Saturday of winter racing, there’s no more exciting horse running than Arabian Knight.

Bob Baffert told Daily Racing Form’s Mary Rampellini that Arabian Knight needs to show in the Southwest Stakes at Oaklawn he can race as effectively around two turns as he did around one. He’ll be just as effective. Expect Arabian Knight to emerge Saturday as a leading candidate for the Kentucky Derby – a race from which his trainer is banned this year.

Odds-on Arabian Knight is for viewing pleasure. There are plenty of other places to find a bet.
