A New Jersey lawmaker on Friday introduced a bill that would ban sportsbooks from offering micro-betting, or fast-paced wagers involving events within a game.

Assemblyman Dan Hutchison (D-4) submitted the proposal, which would prevent consumers from betting on markets such as whether the next pitch will be a ball or a strike, or whether the next pass will be complete or incomplete. The bill is one of several aimed at reforming New Jersey’s gambling industry.

The Atlantic Coast Conference is adding injury reports before conference games beginning with the upcoming football season, ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips said Tuesday.

Injury reports, which are commonplace in professional sports, will need to be made public by teams at least 48 hours before kickoff. The SEC added injury reports ahead of conference games last year, and the Big Ten did the same in 2023. The Mid-American Conference, a much smaller league, also added them in 2024.

Amid the rise of prediction platforms such as Kalsi, Polymarket looks ready to re-enter the American marketplace.

Polymarket was banned from operating in the US in 2022 following a settlement with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

The platform, which refers to itself as the “world’s largest prediction market,” revealed this week that it acquired derivatives exchange QCX and clearinghouse QC Clearing LLC (known collectively as QCEX) for $112 million.

Colorado gaming regulators have fined DraftKings $90,000 for accepting wagers in prohibited markets, including bets on the boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul.

DraftKings accepted at least 100 bets on the Tyson-Paul bout last year despite being prohibited from doing so, regulators said.

They also said DraftKings allowed customers to place college player prop bets in March 2025, even though Colorado law prohibits those types of bets.

The NBA cleared Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier of wrongdoing in an illegal sports betting investigation – but the federal government has not.

As the Eastern District of New York continues its probe into the 31-year-old, ESPN’s David Purdum reported that a professional bettor placed 30 bets in 46 minutes before a 2023 game in which Rozier participated. The bets all won and paid out $13,017.70.

At least six sportsbooks in multiple states reported suspicious betting activity pertaining to Rozier’s player prop lines.

Oklahoma – one of 11 states that has not legalized sports betting – could put the controversial topic back on the docket in the near future.

Matthew Morgan, chairman of the Oklahoma Indian Gaming Association, said while speaking at the group’s annual conference in Oklahoma City that he believed there was a positive future for the group. However, he also said it wasn't a secret that tribes and state officials haven’t always seen eye-to-eye.

Two more sportsbooks have responded to Illinois’ sports betting tax increases.

BetMGM and Hard Rock Bet are implementing wager minimums, effective immediately. BetMGM’s new policy requires customers to stake at least $2.50 on a wager, while Hard Rock Bet set a $2 minimum.

Circa Sports is joining FanDuel and DraftKings in pursuit of an untethered sports betting license in Missouri.

The problem? There are only two of these licenses up for grabs ahead of the state’s market launch on Dec. 1.

Untethered licenses do not require sportsbooks to be associated with a casino or professional sports team. Which means operators don’t have to split their revenue or resources with land-based partners.

Five offshore sportsbooks have been fined $50,000 each by Tennessee gaming regulators.

The penalties were issued to BetAnySports, BetOnline, Bookmaker, Everygame, and JazzSports, the Tennessee Sports Wagering Council announced this week.

BetOnline had been ordered in May to shutter its operations in Tennessee, while the other four platforms operated in the state without acquiring the proper licensing, regulators said.

Tennessee is one of several states that has stepped up enforcement of its gaming rules by targeting nefarious operators.

Indiana’s sports betting market has continued to show promising signs of growth despite being one of the first state markets to open in the US.

Indiana retail and online sportsbooks generated $351.1 million in wagers and $45.3 million in adjusted gaming revenue in June, according to the Indiana Gaming Commission.

The handle represented a significant 17.7% year-over-year increase, while revenue surged a resounding 48.7%.
