A pair of $71,600 New York Sire Stakes races for 2-year-old filly pacers were contested at Yonkers Raceway on Tuesday night (8/4) with favorites Albergita Hanover and Test The Faith dominating the action. In the first division, Albergita Hanover settled in fourth through the opening quarter in 28 3/5 before quickly brushing to the front at the half in 58 seconds. From there the daughter of Roll With Joe put together back-to-back 28 1/5 quarters to easily best pocket-sitter Rightfully Mine and Sea Of Love Bc in 1:54 2/5. Scott Zeron drove Albergita Hanover ($3.20) for trainer Linda Toscano and owners Seth Coen, George Derocker, Camelot Stable and Decker’s Corner Stable. The win was her second in three career starts. Test The Faith ($3.40) proved even more dominating in a wire-to-wire victory in the second split. With Jim Marohn Jr. in the bike, the daughter of Art Major posted fractions of 28 3/5, 58 1/5 and 1:26 before stopping the timer in 1:53 3/5 while well clear of pocket-sitter Dc Batgirl in second and the green first-over Think Of Galaxies in third. Test Of Faith picked up her second lifetime win in three starts for trainer Brett Pelling and owners Melvin Segal and Kentuckiana Racing Stable.
