2025 MEET STATS: 391 - 1272 / $2,243.82 (-$300.18) BEST BETS: 65 - 123 / $209.96 (-$36.04) BEST BET: LAFITTE (7th) SPOT PLAY: EMDOUBLEAKAY (2nd) Race 1: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace (4) DISARONNO HILL was collared last week at 1/5 odds but should make amends here once she reaches the top, as the other logicals haven't proven they can pass her. (1) HARPER SEELSTER took a step back last out after a couple of decent outings but she's got the rail again so she merits a look. (2) STONECOLD GIRL was no match to the top one recently and she needs more in the late stages. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: F&M $20,000 Claiming Pace (5) EMDOUBLEAKAY has been a model of consistency lately and is overdue to break through with a win; new driver in Holland, maybe that makes a difference. (3) DW'S DARLENE has also been consistent and trainer Cory Stratton drove her to a win two back. (1) OAKWOOD DYNASTY IR makes only her sixth start of the year for the Burke barn and she drops in class while drawing best. Mare is probably capable of better. Race 3: F&M $25,000 Claiming Pace This race will probably be dominated by the two inside favorites. (1) STORMY SERENA returned to this level last week and was a game front-end winner. I'm hoping Holland stuffs (2) DISTANT LOVER into the pocket and can rate comfortably. The latter has one hiccup over the last few months, though it was a big one as she pulled up with broken equipment as the favorite. Otherwise the Bako trainee is right there every week. (5) IDEAL SKIES fits with this type and can offer a bit of value underneath. Race 4: F&M $30,000 Claiming Pace (2) YS SENSATIONALCITY finally broke through for me last start, and at a very healthy price as well. Mare always seems to draw well and should be looking at another live trip. (3) TOBAGO TIME woke up with an improved effort last out with Bartlett in the bike and he drives the classy mare again. (4) VIBRANCE draws better in this smaller field and can land a share. Race 5: 2-5YO Winners of 2-4 races or $60,000 LT Pace (7) ITS ELECTRIFYING N is the latest potential "Down-Under Wonder", this one for the Engblom barn, and he chased a good one in that qualifier. I'll look his way first out despite the post. (1) BOXER SEELSTER has finished third in his last two for Lachance. Recent Canadian import is just 1 for 18 in his 3YO season but seems to be getting closer. (4) ALRITEALTIREALRITE has hit the board in all three tries since arriving from Canada to join the Alexander barn. Race 6: 2-5YO Winners of 5-7 races or $90,000 LT Pace (2) MATAI PHIL N has shown steady improvement over his three starts at this level and from this decent post in an abbreviated field I think he's got a real chance. (4) CAPTAIN LUFFY makes his second local start after closing belatedly last week. He certainly is eligible to move forward off that effort. (1) THIS JK ROCKS steps up to face tougher off last week's well-rated win. Top trainer/driver in play here. Race 7: 2-5YO Winners of 2-4 races or $60,000 LT Pace (4) LAFITTE has looked very sharp through two local starts and doesn't face any scary foes on the mild step up in class. Alexander trainee looms the one to beat. (2) CARRONSIDELEGCY GB goes second-time Lasix from a good post in a questionable field and will be forwardly placed again. (7) DISMAS returns locally for Engblom, goes back to Bartlett. Can he avoid getting away last? Race 8: NW20000 in last 5 starts Pace (4) BET ON BIG JOE is perfect in three starts since arriving locally for Burke and while he faces a tough test from the likely favorite on the rail I'm hoping his experience and proven success at this level comes into play. (1) STERLING CHOICE has been a killer in five Yonkers starts but he does step up here to face a different type of competition; this is a good test for the Bako trainee. (5) CURLY JAMES A has been beaten no more than half a length in five starts since arriving from Australia but he loses his regular driver and is stuck outside his main competition; underneath. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: NW15000 in last 5 starts Pace (1) WHATS STANLEY GOT A lays over these class-wise, draws the rail and picks up Bartlett. Seems pretty logical to me, though we have a short price looming. (4) IMTHEBLACKFLASH N won his U.S. debut then ran into a little road trouble when bumped to this level; new driver now in Kelly. (5) TWIN B POWERBALL had no chance on the class hike last week, better post can land him a piece. Race 10: NW5000 in last 5 starts Pace (2) MARLBANK ROAD has just two wins and nine board spots in 34 seasonal starts but he never really puts in a bad effort and can never be tossed from inside posts; 10/1 ML makes him enticing. (1) FAMILY RECIPE has never been a prolific winner but he’ll be right there from the rail. (5) EUPHORIA N drops in class, gets a driver change to Bartlett.
