Top Pick Stats: 21 - 63 / $98.40 (-$25.30) Best Bets: 4 - 6 / $12.00 (+/- $0) Spot Plays: 0 - 6 / $0.00 (-$12.00) Best Bet: AMIGO VOLO (9TH) Spot Play: FLASH TO THE FINISH (4TH) Early Pick 5: 4,5/7,8,9/3,6,8/1,2/3,7 = $14.40 Late Pick 5: 4,6/5,7/3,6/5/4,7,8,9 = $6.40 Early Pick 4: 1,2/3,7/4,6/5,7 = $3.20 Late Pick 4: 3,6/5/4,7,8,9/2,5,9 = $4.80 Race 1: NW $8,350 L5 or $95,000 LT AE: OPT CLM $50,000 **Gtd. $100,000 Pick 5** (5) BUCK DANCER got a needed clean line and trotted a nice back 1/2 now he draws much better. I’ll give him the nod to kick off the early Pick 5. (4) WALKONTHEMOON raced well in defeat to tough Patriarch Hanover last week and he rates highly vs. these. He’s hard to leave off the Pick 5 ticket. (2) SHESTHELUCKYONE should improve enough on the drop to land in the exotics tonight. (7) DISTANCE LEARNING ships north from New Jersey and seems to fit okay here but he hasn’t raced since November. I’ll watch him for next week. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: CLM HDCP $10,000 to $12,000 (9) ISITFRIDAYYET drops and he is spotted to win and likely get claimed in this spot; top call. (8) BEACH FIRE K will get great position leaving the gate again and he figures to be the main danger; using. (7) WINDSONG GRAYSON produced a huge late kick last week and he should close for at least a share here, too. (4) NORTHERN SPY draws better which should mean he is positioned closer to the front early and I see him landing in the bottom of the exotics. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: NW $15,500 L5 AE: OPT CLM $70,000 or NW2 in 2023-24 (8) RITSON has shown in the past that this is a field he can handle. Making this third start back, I’ll price shop with him in a race with no standout. (6) ALL WRAPPED UP is clearly sharp, having won three of his last six starts and he is the one to fear late. (3) PATRIARCH HANOVER steps up off an easy win, but this isn’t the toughest NW $15,500 L5 and his speed could carry him a long way again. I just wonder if he will get over bet. (7) CHULO has been flying late in his miles. He should close for another share here. Race 4: CLM $8,000 - Pick 4 (2) FLASH TO THE FINISH stayed in last week and he lacked room late in the stretch. He gets J Mac now and he gets top billing here. (1) ROYAL REGATTA raced well when claimed by Fellows and he will likely look, to take control of this race early; using. (8) HES GOT SWAGGER drops and he should get positioned near the front early and land in the exotics. (5) OFFICER JONES’ late kick should find him landing in the bottom of the Tri or Super in this spot. Race 5: Horses that have started for a purse of $15,000 or less in 1 of L3 (3) HANDSOME SEBASTIAN jogged and took a new life’s mark with the driver change to Filion and it looked like he had plenty left in the tank at the wire; call to repeat. I can see (7) MACALLAN getting the early lead then letting the choice go which could lead to a perfect trip. He is the other one that I’ll use on early multi-race tickets. 42-time winner (5) O NARUTAC PERFETTO just keeps winning at age 13 and he fits well here. He should be in the mix again. (2) PRINCE OF SUSSEX is in great form, and he can take air. He is hard to leave out of the exotics. Race 6: CLM HDCP $10,000 to $12,000 - Pick 5 (4) HAPUNA BEACH is on a roll for a hot barn, and he is hard for me to go against here as he seeks the threepeat. (6) THEDOGINTHEFIGHT dropped and popped, and he looked good doing it. Back in the same class tonight, he should be the one to fend off late. (8) ARTISTIC PICK, 2nd to the choice on 1/1, will be passing horses again tonight but I prefer to use him underneath from an outer post. (5) LIL RED SPORTSTAR is one that often outraces his odds and makes it into the exotics. He could provide some Tri or Super value here. Race 7: 5YO and younger NW2 (F&M3) but not more than 4 (F&M5) or $45,000 LT (5) CRYSTALL BALLER was motoring at the end of the mile last week, but he ran out of racetrack. Starting from a better post tonight, he can get positioned closer to the front. I’ll give him the nod to knock off (7) QUEBEC HANOVER this time. The latter is the obvious one to catch but the choice may have got him if he was closer at the head of the lane last week. (9) PASSARINO couldn’t convert at 1 to 2, he missed two weeks now and he loses the top driver. I’ll play to beat him. (1) IF THE SHOE FITS should flash speed and stick around for a share in this spot. Race 8: CLM HDCP $19,000 to $24,000 - Pick 4 (3) SAULSBROOK BOOMER chased a winner that was taking a new life’s mark and pacing a very fast mile on a cold night last week. If he can find the pocket here again, he has a good shot to upset hot (6) MUSIC TO MY GEARS. The latter couldn’t be much sharper, and he is the obvious one to take down. (7) DOC HOUSTON is another that is very sharp at the moment, but he was no match for Music To My Gears last time. I’ll use him underneath. (4) SKYLAR should be good for another small share in this spot. Race 9: PREFERRED (5) AMIGO VOLO smoked most of tonight’s opponent last time they carded a Preferred trot on 12/26 and he is a standout here. (2) ONEY HALL will likely find the pocket here and that makes him a solid bet to complete the Exacta. (6) WHITE TIGER is racing well, and I can see him passing a couple of these late to take a share. (3) PIKACHU HANOVER tripped out to win last week. I don’t foresee the same trip tonight. He will probably be a bit player. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: CLM HDCP $30,000 to $40,000 (9) DONTPOKETHEDRAGON cut a big back 1/2 last week and it didn’t matter as he took his fourth straight win. He is razor sharp and primed to take a fifth win in a row. (8) INSTANTANEOUS will probably blast and find the pocket racing off the Auciello claim and that makes him a threat. (7) THRILLING TIMES comes up tagged here but this isn’t an easy spot. I see him closing late for a share. (4) MACH IMPACT races off the Lester claim and his good late kick should find him in the Tri or Super at the finish. Race 11: Horses that have started for a purse of $9,000 or less in 1 of L3 (5) TWIN B POWERBALL goes to Moreau and picks up Macdonald coming off a nice win at Flamboro Downs and he gets the call to repeat in a spot where he seems to fit well. (2) MR IBIZA N is the other Moreau here and he was facing tougher in New Jersey. I could see the stablemates battling to the wire. (9) MACH JACOBS is racing well for Hudon who scored a grand slam here last week. I’ll give him a price look for the late Pick 4. (4) ILLGETMYOWN THANKS figures to pass a few of these late and take another share. (3) GIDDY UP MAX is another that can close late and finish on the edges.
