Slew’s Tiz Whiz won his third consecutive $50,000 Governor’s Stakes on Sunday at Emerald Downs, but he had to share this year’s honors with Arma d’Oro in a dead heat after there was no separating the pair on the wire. Arma d’Oro, ridden by Kevin Krigger, sat a cozy third during much of the race as Papa’s Golden Boy carved out early fractions of 22.13 seconds and 44.20 during the first half-mile of the 6 1/2-furlong race. Arma d’Oro moved five wide at the quarter pole and took the lead at the eighth pole. Slew’s Tiz Whiz saved ground along the rail early under jockey Jose Zunino and took advantage of lots of running room along the inside on the turn to make a slow and steady charge up the rail to get a share of the win. The pair covered the distance in 1:14.91 and finished 1 3/4 lengths in front of Neiman, who stalked the pace in second and was sent off as the tepid 5-2 favorite.  :: Bet the races with a $200 First Deposit Match + FREE All Access PPs! It was another three-quarters of a length back to Our Lyla Grace in third.  The winner covered the distance in 1:15.06 and returned $3.98.
