ALTOONA, Iowa – The 2014 Iowa Derby champion Jessica’s Star returns to the scene of his greatest exploits for the $75,000 Jim Rasmussen Memorial at Prairie Meadows on Monday. The 1 1/16-mile stakes for 3-year-olds and up shares the card with the $50,000 Wild Rose for fillies and mares. Last season, the Mike Stidham-trained Jessica’s Star parlayed a win in the May 31 Prairie Mile into a one-length tally over Embellishing Bob in the June 28 Iowa Derby. Jessica’s Star then lost by a head to East Hall in the July 19 Ohio Derby at ThistleDown. Jessica’s Star has struggled in his last three outings. :: Bet the Jim Rasmussen Memorial and the Wild Rose Stakes with DRF Bets. Get up to a $500 cash bonus! Find out more today.
