ELMONT, N.Y. - Position Limit, the leader of the 2-year-old filly division, will miss the remainder of her juvenile campaign after developing chips in her right hind ankle, her connections said. Position Limit will have the chips surgically removed from her ankle and will convalesce at Jake Pletcher’s farm in Ocala, Fla. Jake Pletcher is the father of Todd Pletcher, who trains Position Limit for the Starlight Partners of Jack and Laurie Wolf and Don and Barbara Lucarelli. “She hurt herself during training,” Jack Wolf, managing partner of Starlight, said. “Her back right ankle has got some chips in it, we’re going to take them out and give her the time. They’re saying 60 to 90 days. We’ll bring her back for her 3-year-old career.” Position Limit, a daughter of Bellamy Road, won a maiden race by 6 3/4 lengths at Belmont on July 14 and then took the Grade 2 Adirondack Stakes at Saratoga by five lengths on Aug. 15.
