CHAMPIONSHIP MEET STATS: 346-116-67-63 / $676.40 (-$15.60) BEST BETS: 26-9-8-3 / $31.20 (-20.80) SPOT PLAYS: 26-9-7-3 / $54.60 (+$2.60) BEST BET: IN RANGE (10th) SPOT PLAY: STONE HANOVER (7th) Race 1: Hambletonian Amateur Drivers - Pick 5 (2) BIG MONEY HONEY has been fairly consistent in recent weeks and picks up a good amateur in a good spot. He should stick reasonably close early and have every chance to pick up the win. (7) BIG NUDGE won an amateur race two starts back at Pocono and is arguably the sharpest horse in the field. Trip is the only concern for a horse that tends to rally. (6) EXPOSIVE LEGGS comes off an impressive win at The Meadows and has been keeping better company than most of these, but this 71-year-old driver has six career starts so proceed with caution. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Garden State 2YO Filly Trot (4) PRETTY INTERESTING finished with good late life two starts back before coming up seemingly flat last Friday on a track that was playing slow and with gusty winds in the air. Walner filly is worth another shot in a mostly blank field. (7) GRACELYN HANOVER will clearly be heading to the front and certainly has looked fastest of this group so far, but I'd like to see a win before backing her. (3) MAGIC CAN HAPPEN has been fairly steady versus a better quality of fillies overall thus far; worth using. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Meadowlands card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: Garden State 2YO Filly Trot - Survivor 7 (1) MISSWALNER FASHION and (2) LILBITALEXIS jump off the page in this division of the Garden State and should finish one-two in some fashion. I lean to the former as she has shown a higher top speed in my eye. (3) PRIMADONNA DEO has a couple of thirds behind some quality young ladies and might be staring at another showing tonight. Race 4: Hambletonian Amateur Drivers (6) ZOOMING is a classy veteran capable of winning from on or off the pace and amateur Steven Oldford has experience winning with him in the past. (5) FREDDIE MAC arrives sharp for a driver that has been first or second in 54% of his starts here this year. (1) RIVER OTTER & (7) STICK WITH ME KID both come out of slightly tougher races and merit a look in this close-knit group. (4) INNISFALLEN looks ok on paper but did break in his last two starts with an amateur at the helm; tricky horse to drive. Race 5: Hambletonian Amateur Drivers (7) SAY YOU DO is clearly the fastest horse in the race and as long as he isn't odds-on, I'd put my money in his corner. (2) ALL CHAMPY ships in razor sharp and could sit close and close the deal late. (5) GREY raced very well in her last appearance here in the amateur ranks and her recent form is fine. (8) GOLD MEDAL SWAN isn’t the most reliable horse but he’s capable if the race comes to him. Race 6: Continental Victory 3YO Filly Trot - $50K GTD Pick 4 (6) MAZZARATI didn't disgrace herself in the Hambletonian Oaks and raced well in the Del Miller as well. Cantab Hall filly faces softer competition and could wake up at a decent price. (1) MELANIA raced much better returning from vacation and might be ready to find herself. (8) WET MY WHISTLE also drops out of the Oaks where she made a break. Gingras could certainly be gunning off the gate here. Race 7: Non-winners $6,000 in last 4/TM 83.5 or less (7) STONE HANOVER lost to a sharp winner in a better field last week and previously he was in against Highalator and Allywag Hanover. Five-year-old should enjoy the class drop and could also benefit from the addition of Lasix. (3) IMA REAL LADYS MAN, (1) OURLITTLEGENERAL A and (8) ROCKIN THE ACES are all moving down the condition ladder and any of them could pop a big mile. Race 8: Garden State 2YO C&G Trot - Pick 6 (1) TACHYON has been keeping up well enough versus better foes. Ake can fire out in this spot and take them a long way. (8) REBUFF beat some of these last week and the only question tonight is the bad post. (7) PRETENDER could be a heavy favorite in this spot because of the Takter/Gingras angle, but I'm not convinced he is a killer quite yet. Race 9: Continental Victory 3YO Filly Trot (4) AUNT IRENE has never lived up to her potential but she has been a bit better of late. Connections reach out to Dunn this week so you have to think they are looking for a win. (1) AVENIR fits a similar profile to the top pick, though this gal has more of a breaking problem. The hobbles seemed to correct the problems and she's been going better lately. (5) AUTUMN DEO came back from a break with a strong effort. Can she follow that up here? Race 10: Muscle Hill 3YO C&G Trot - $50K GTD Pick 4 (5) IN RANGE was never put in play in the Hambletonian eliminations. Expect Tetrick to show early speed here as this guy destroys this group. (7) ZENITH STRIDE ran up on the foe in front of him and made a break last week. If the price is decent he's worth using underneath. (4) COLONIAL AS IT hasn't been bad versus some good competition; using underneath. Race 11: Non-winners $12,500 (FM $13,750) in last 4 (4) CHIN CHIN HALL gets some serious class relief tonight and really has no excuses for failure. (5) KENZIESKY HANOVER is out of stakes competition and in against a group where she can succeed given a reasonable trip. (8) DOUBLE ACCOUNT picked up some confidence versus cheaper and can certainly handle the class rise. Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter Race 12: Garden State 2YO C&G Trot (6) JAQEN H'GHAR displayed some signs of life last week and I'm hoping Ake lets him loose a bit early this week. There is talent here and it is just a matter of when this son of Walner is allowed to show it. (1) PERICULUM chased nicely in some faster miles through much of July. How good is he? (4) STRIDE THE HILL rolled past my top pick last time out and on that angle alone deserves some consideration. Race 13: Non-winners $2,000 (NW L5 $2,125) in last 4/TM 78 to 79 (7) DISMISSAL SLIP gets a key trainer change tonight while facing a dull field. (1) WHITTAKER N swooped the field impressively at 4-1 last week only to get dq'ed for backstretch interference. He's going to be the chalk now. (9) ARQUE HANOVER has a shot if Abbatiello puts him in play. (5) TRUSSED UP TRUDY gets Yannick in the bike and could be handled more aggressively.
