MEET STATS: 90-20-12-12 / $127.60 (-$52.40) BEST BETS: 6-2-1-1 / $6.40 (-5.60) SPOT PLAYS: 6-2-0-1 / $25.00 (+$13.00) BEST BET: ALL THE TRUTH (5th) SPOT PLAY: JACKAMINO (12th) Race 1: Non-winners $2,500 in last 5 or life/TM 75 or less/Opt. $10,000 Clm. - Pick 5 (6) BYTHEWAY HANOVER adds Lasix here and could be worth a shot at a big price versus a field that mostly lacks form. (4) PAPPY ROCKS is a veteran who could step up in a spot like this one if handled aggressively. (9) LITTLE SANDY TOES has speed and form. She's the one to beat but hardly a lock. (1) BETCHA BABY ships down for a barn that is having a good meet and Yannick chose here over my top pick. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: GSY Pace (5) BUNGALOW BILL N is capable of making the front and the road to that position should be less rocky this week. (3) FATHER SARDUCCI is typically a player in these amateur races with Slendorn driving and the inside post gives him options. (1) WATCHMENEIGHNEIGH finally draws well after four straight outside posts. The question here is whether he has enough form to pull it off. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Meadowlands card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: Non-winners $4,001 (NW L3 $4,400) in last 5/TM 78 (NW L3/5 78.5/79) - Survivor 7 (5) CHIPLOSIVE is way down in class and really has no excuses for failure tonight. (2) VIC'S WINNER raced well in this class last time versus a better and sharper foe. He's the one horse that could down the top pick if on his game. (1) MARVELOUSTRIX is great at sitting mid-pack and pouncing late for a board spot. Race 4: $7,500-$8,500 Claiming Handicap (8) DL'S BIG ELVIS was spectacular in his first start off the claim and anything close to a repeat performance would mean another picture. (5) OPUS BLUE CHIP was on a roll before facing the top pick most recently. He does have a post advantage and should be heading to the front. (10) P-DRIVE HANOVER split the top pair last time out; post 10 hurts. Race 5: Winners 2-4 (NW L3 5) races or $50,000 (NW L2 $60,000) life (4) ALL THE TRUTH had his hat handed to him three straight weeks versus much tougher and now gets to sneak into this class on a sub-condition. Gingras/Burke charge should prove difficult to defeat. (3) SPUNKIN'SROCKETMAN has won two straight including in this condition, and you may even get some value here. (7) BIRDMAN keeps going to the front and getting away with soft paces; Lasix added now. (9) STAY CLOSE ships in sharp for Burke and can't be ignored. Race 6: Winners 3-5 (NW L3 6) or $60,000 life - $50K GTD Pick 4 (8) JM BETONSIX took care of business in this class last time and even with the outside post she has to be considered the likely repeat winner. (3) A BETTER GAME is clearly sharp and lost to the top one by less than two lengths most recently. (7) DIVINE DEO is clearly capable but must find a way from the outside post. (1) ELLAGATOR has been facing better at Yonkers, though when a horse has a lifetime mark on a half it always concerns me in terms of their chances on a big track. Race 7: GSY Pace (5) STELLAR BB drops in company as he enters this amateur event. In a field with many potential early speed players, this guy could pounce late if his owner/driver can be patient. (4) PREPPY ART has yet to be put in play in the amateur races. Perhaps this is the week for new driver Calabrese? (9) ROCKABILLY CHARM is a horse that will certainly be coming from behind and he could storm home if they mix it up as expected. Race 8: Non-winners $10,000 (NW L3 $11,251) in last 5/TM 84 (NW L3/5 84.5/85.5) - $14,033 Pick 6 Carryover (4) JUSTLIKEHIM picked up his game last time as he chased home a much better mare. While this barn has been a bit chilly of late, this gelding can make the top early and secure good position. (8) AMADOR & (9) STORMONT VENTOR are both down in class off races where they were never put into play. Either is capable of stepping up, but the outside posts do them no favors. Race 9: Non-winners $4,000 in last 5/TM 78 (NW L3/5 78.5/79) (1) WESTERN SHOWGIRL fits the mold I like: a sharp horse moving up in class who has proven capable of winning in these situations in the past. The price should be right despite a two-race winning streak. (5) ROYALTYWESTHO qualified back nicely as she prepares for her first start for a high-percentage barn. (6) STREAK THE LAWN drops to the level of her last victory. (10) LADY LOU has the talent to win and should be sharper in her second start back from a break; post 10 makes her task difficult. Race 10: Non-winners $14,000 in last 5/TM 87.2 or less - $50K GTD Pick 4 (7) KENZIESKY HANNOVER technically moves up in class but very much sticks at a winnable level. She should be heading to the front here and be in position to take down her second straight. (3) ANGEL NATION displayed life at both ends of the mile last time and that is a clear sign that this guy is ready to put in a big mile. (9) DELTASUN A romped in his last go at this level but he had a better post that time. (4) KNIGHT ANGEL moves into a good barn and could certainly perk up in a hurry. Race 11: TrackMaster Rating 78.91 or less None of these interest me very much so I'll just roll the dice with likely longshot (7) FERNADO. He's more than fast enough to beat any in this field if ready off the layoff. (6) TUAPEKA TRICK N has seemingly fallen on hard times in terms of form, but some of those spots were certainly more difficult than this one. (1) JUST WAVE GOODBYE is another sharp shipper who is in theory moving up in class. Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter Race 12: Non-winners $2,500 (NW L3 $2,751) in last 5 (3) JACKAMINO was locked in behind a wall of horses and loaded with pace in his last start. Veteran knows his way to the winner's circle and finds a good spot despite facing a field full of class-droppers. (8) HAPPY TRIO & (9) IAMMRBRIGHTSIDE N are both exiting claimers where the competition was much tougher. Either is capable if they can find form and a good trip from a tough post. Race 13: Non-winners $2,500 (NW L3 $2,751) in last 5/TM 75 (NW L3/5 75.5/76.64) (6) CLASSIC VENTURE gets class and post relief along with a nice driver change to McCarthy; three good angles. (5) HALLIAMA is more than capable of making some noise in the bottom condition tonight but we haven't seen an aggressive try from him in quite some time. (2) ALEXANDER HANOVER also drops and gets a better post. He was third in this condition from post 10 two starts back. (10) ST JAMES GATE has the early speed to make the top and should last for a good check.
