Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas, canceled the final three races of its 12-race card on Saturday after a lightning storm moved into the area after 6 p.m. Central. Horses were caught in the paddock for the 10th race when the storm hit, the second heavy rain of the afternoon. Earlier on the card, the fifth race was delayed because a sudden rainstorm. Lone Star is scheduled to race on Sunday. Also in the region, Will Rogers Downs in Claremore, Okla., canceled its Saturday card after 7 1/2 inches of rain fell at the track Friday. Will Rogers also canceled its card for Monday, while a decision on the Tuesday program is to be made no later than Monday, said Kelly Cathey, director of racing operations for Will Rogers.
