LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The last flight of Breeders’ Cup horses has arrived in Louisville, with a plane from New York landing here at 5:35 local time Tuesday. Among the horses on the Tuesday evening flight was Gio Ponti, who will challenge Goldikova in the Mile. Breeders’ Cup rules require all participants to be on the grounds 72 hours before race day, meaning any horse entered on Friday’s program had to be at Churchill by noon Tuesday. Two more horses for Saturday’s races, Here Comes Ben and Wise Dan, are expected to arrive by van on Wednesday morning, at which point all Breeders’ Cup starters will be on the grounds.
