Longshot Huntstown upset the field of 12 3-year-old Indiana-breds in the $90,350 Snack Stakes at Indiana Grand Race Course on Wednesday, winning the one-mile turf race by 2 1/4 lengths. Sent off at 41-1, Huntstown was kept back off the early pace by jockey Malcolm Franklin. Trained by Wayne Mogge, Huntstown rallied on the second turn and took the lead in upper stretch. Franklin went to work, and the gray or roan gelding cruised home, finishing in 1:36.71 on firm turf. Odds-on favorite Proud Azteca finished second, 5 1/2 lengths in front of Bisque in third. Huntstown returned $84.20 to win. • Cactus Joe chased Lady Caroline for most of the one mile on turf in the $90,000 Ellen's Lucky Star and then wore her down in the stretch to win by a half-length. Trained by Randy Matthews, Cactus Joe was held in reserve in second until the stretch. Jockey Oriana Rossi asked the filly for her best in late stretch, and she responded. Express Model closed late to finish third by a half-length in the field of 12 Indiana-bred 3-year-old fillies. Cactus Joe finished in 1.39.08 and returned $11 to win.
