CINCINNATI – Flip Daddy made his maiden debut a winning one when taking the $50,000 Hoover for 2-year-old Ohio-bred horses Sunday at Belterra Park. Trained by Doug Cowans, Flip Daddy went to the front of the 11-horse field out of the gate and never looked back under jockey Perry Ouzts. The final margin of victory was two lengths. Draw Nigh chased the winner from the outside and finished second, a half-length in front of a late-charging Unbridled Graduate. Flip Daddy ran the 5 1/2 furlongs over a sloppy track in 1.06.81 and returned $9.40 to win.
