The Fasig-Tipton Florida sale of selected 2-year-olds in training will be moved to Adena Springs South in Williston, Fla. near Ocala, for its 2014 renewal. The high-level juvenile sale has traditionally been based in the Miami area, first at Calder Race Course from 1983-2010, then the Palm Meadows Training Center since 2011. Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning Jr. said the current racing situation in South Florida, with both Calder and Gulfstream Park holding live meets at the same time, changed the dynamics of stall availability at the training center for 2014. The sale company reached a deal with The Stronach Group, owner of both Palm Meadows and Adena Springs South, to relocate the sale to the farm in 2014, with plans to hold future editions of the sale at Gulfstream Park, another Stronach-owned property. “Our consignors and buyers have established the Florida sale as the leader in the market for approximately 60 years,” Browning said. “In conversations with the participants who have been part of this success story, they have been extremely positive.  We are excited about putting together a catalog which will attract a broad base of buyers there.” The 2014 Fasig-Tipton Florida sale will be held Monday, March 24, with the pre-sale under-tack show scheduled for Friday, March 21. Nominations are now being accepted and inspections will take place during November and December.
