ELMONT, N.Y. – Dylan Davis, out of the saddle since March 20, when he broke his collarbone in a spill at Aqueduct, has been cleared to start getting on horses. Davis got on three horses for trainer Mark Hennig Tuesday and galloped five horses on Wednesday. He was expected to breeze his first horse on Thursday with the hope of being able to take calls starting next week. :: Enhance your handicapping with DRF’s Belmont Park Clocker Report “If I have to ship out of town then I would try for sure,” said Davis, who added that Monmouth Park would be an option for a possible return. “It just depends on where I get mounts. I’m just looking to get started and get back into racing. I felt great on the horses again, but I can’t wait to get back to racing.” Davis finished as the fourth-leading rider at the Aqueduct winter meet with 44 wins. ◗ Luis Cardenas officially became a journeyman rider last Saturday and it took just five mounts to achieve his first victory as such, winning Sunday’s opener on Adriatic Rose. As an apprentice, Cardenas won 71 races, all on the NYRA circuit.
