Daily Racing Form has served as the most trusted source of news and information about the sport since 1894, and moving forward we have decided to provide a free daily playbook – something that both hardcore horseplayers and casual observers can reference to get informed of each day’s action. 12:05 CD 4th SCHOOL DANCE (#8, 10-1) comes out of a race which featured a good deal of pace and thus set up well for the closers (note the bold "C" in DRF pp line), and she was never able to get into contention; the sharp work in the interim suggests today's addition of blinkers agrees with her and she has back figures that are plenty good enough. -Kenny Peck  12:15 TAM 1st COASTAL RIVER (#8, 6-1) is from the barn of Gary Ellebracht, who has won with three of his first 11 starters, including firster Mega Glorious a few weeks back at this same level; this gelding is the first starter from the dam, who raced only twice, but he sports a full work tab and he meets a seemingly average field. -Kenny Peck 12:25 LRL 1st HAP'S VICTORY (#6, 20-1) broke in a bit from the inside draw, then rushed up to press 10-1 Moncrief (finished sixth). Tired pretty badly in the stretch, but that pace seemed quick as the top-two finishers rallied from seventh and sixth after the half-mile call. Drops a notch with the speed to grab the lead adding blinkers for the first time. -Dan Illman 12:58 LRL 2nd PATRIA (#2, 20-1) had some success for this barn earlier in her career, including a gate-to-wire win at Aqueduct against fellow New York-breds. Seems a bit dirtied-up heading as she's recently campaigned around two turns (likely too far), as well as on synthetic and dirt (likely not her preferred surfaces). In a bit tough for $40,000 here last fall, but seems like a nice fit at this level, and has run well fresh. -Dan Illman 1:10 GP 1st MY SERGEANT (#2, 4-1) is by a 7% debut sire (all sire stats are for 2YO's only). His dam went 10-1-2-0 and earned 36K. Both sibs won including a full sister that is a multiple winner of 75K. The other sib is 4-1-2-0 and earned 73K (won 2YO debut). Works are well spaced and this barn is 1 for 1 with debut maidens. LOU is by a 8% debut sire. His dam went 8-0-0-3 for 18K. Lone sib is 3 for 3 and earned 62K. This barn is 22% with 1st starters. -Scott Ehlers 1:15 OP 1st DOCS SEVEN (#4, 8-1) moves back into the starter ranks off the claim. -Mary Rampellini  1:21 TAM 3rd LUCKY GIRL COCO (#1, 9-2) has been steadily improving with each start in terms of Beyers, culminating in that maiden score in her most recent; she was certainly aided by a favorable trip and set up there but she may get a similar situation here given her inside post and her tactical speed. -Kenny Peck  2:12 GP 3rd KALIMAN (#1, 6-1) broke last in his debut and that did not help matters. Now he is stuck on the rail going 6 1/2 furlongs but does drop in class. Did you see that he hopped at the start in said debut? We bet he was just anxious to race and that he will break better in his second start. -Scott Ehlers  3:13 BAQ 5th CABLE READY (#2, 20-1) jammed in four races with short spacing at the end of his 2yo campaign and ended that run with a stakes win as a maiden when turned back to sprint; started back in a tough spot last month and was nowhere; stretches back out with turf pedigree to back him up as a son of Cable, who was a two-time turf route winner and placed in three graded stakes on that surface. -Mike Beer  3:50 TAM 7th KILLARGUE'S GIRL's (#8, 30-1) pedigree doesn't inspire a lot of promise when it comes to her ability to handle turf but she is a double pace upgrade off her last pair, when caught off the pace in races where the speeds held the edge (as denoted by bold "S" symbols); she lands in a race laced with pace today and she could be perfectly set up given a clean trip. -Kenny Peck 4:38 GP 8th HAPPY BEACH (#3, 20-1) is by a 7% debut sire. Her dam is 20-6-2-1 and earned 149K. All 4 sibs won including three that beat winners (41K, 56K, and 88K). Recent works are well spaced and Rios is 25% when riding for this barn. -Scott Ehlers
