Saturday is Woodbine’s busiest day of the year. This year’s Queen’s Plate – Canada’s equivalent of the Kentucky Derby – sees a full field of 16 go to post and should be a great race for contest players. DRF Tournaments is offering a special free tournament, sponsored by Woodbine, in conjunction with the Queen’s Plate card, which also features three graded stakes races: the Grade 2 King Edward, run at a mile on the turf, the Grade 2 Dance Smartly for females over 10 furlongs on the grass, and the Grade 1 Highlander, a Win and You’re In for the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint. The contest is free to play and the top three finishers will receive DRF Tournaments site credit. The first-place finisher gets $300, with $150 to second and $50 going to third. Why not take a free roll to fund your upcoming summer contest play? The featured game on DRFT this Saturday offers players a chance to win into Keeneland’s Fall Challenge contest on Sunday, Oct. 14. That one has a $3,000 buy-in, but note that Keeneland will also have a lower buy-in event Saturday, making it that much more worth it for tournament players to plan a trip to the storied Lexington oval. Saturday’s qualifier costs $410, with one in 10 entries receiving prize packages worth $3,500. These include the full buy-in for Keeneland’s Sunday contest, plus $500 in travel. Also this weekend, feeders will continue for the big contests coming up at Saratoga and Del Mar. Saratoga feeders start as low as $11 and Del Mar games begin at $22. Players willing to put up more money to have a more direct route to the qualifiers also have appealing options. The biggest Saratoga feeder costs $95, and one in five entries will advance. For Del Mar, the bigger buy-in is $114 with the same player friendly ratio of prizes to entries. The next qualifiers for both tournaments will be next Saturday, July 7. Other options this weekend include a full slate of matchup contests, in which you compete against just one other player, as well as winner-take-all events, in which five players compete for a pot.
