Dazzling Move was the longest shot in the field when she finished second in the Grade 1 Ogden Phipps last month in Saratoga. Friday, she could be second choice to likely favorite Raging Sea in the Grade 2, $200,000 Shuvee Stakes at Saratoga. Dazzling Move set the pace before being passed by Dorth Vader – the second-longest price in the field – in the Ogden Phipps, a race run over a sloppy track that Raging Sea didn’t like, as she checked in third. “The track helped us a lot because she loves the slop and it may have compromised some other horses because they ran first and second all the way around,” said Saffie Joseph Jr., trainer of Dazzling Move. “The two horses who were question marks at the distance ran one-two. I think the track aided both of them.” Dazzling Move looks to have more speed to contend with on Friday in Malibu Beauty, who is coming off a front-running score in the Obeah Stakes at Delaware. Malibu Beauty is cross-entered for the main track only in a turf allowance Thursday at Delaware. Gun Song and Sidamara, second and fifth to Malibu Beauty in the Obeah Stakes, are entered in the Shuvee, which is the local prep for the Grade 1 Personal Ensign on Aug. 23. Leslie’s Rose and Prides Crossing round out the field. :: Bet Smarter at Saratoga. Unlock DRF data and expert analysis all meet long. Save with a Saratoga Handicapping Package from DRF.
