Jiggy Jog S lowered the track and Canadian record she just set in her elimination a week ago to 1:51 1/5 in winning the rich C$911,250/US$675,000 Breeders Crown 3-Year-Old Filly Trot final on Saturday night at Woodbine Mohawk Park. Hambletonian Oaks champion Fashion Schooner (Tim Tetrick) made a break just before the start, leaving her Jim Campbell stablemate Misswalner Fashion (Todd McCarthy) on the front-end. She was tracked by Raised By Lindy (Yannick Gingras) in the pocket and Jiggy Jog S (Dexter Dunn) in the three-hole. Misswalner Fashion hit the quarter in 27 1/5 and then nobody moved in the second quarter, allowing Misswalner Fashion to get to the half in just 56 1/5. Action began to pick up on the final bend as Jiggy Jog S committed first-over, with Joviality S (Brian Sears) and Warrawee Xenia (Bob McClure) latching on to her cover. Midway through the far turn Misswalner Fashion miscued and was taken into the safety lane, leaving Jiggy Jog S with the lead on the outside at the 1:24 1/5 three-quarters but Raised By Lindy clear and with inside position. Things would remain that way through the stretch and to the wire, with Jiggy Jog S defeating Raised By Lindy by a length. Joviality S would finish third, followed by Bare My Soul (Scott Zeron) and Venerable (David Miller). "She was great. She was so good last week and gave me a lot confidence with her coming into tonight," Dunn offered. "We got away pretty handy, but I had Joviality on my back, so I was always worried about that. My filly was just extremely strong in the stretch tonight. "Toddy's one was going pretty strong on the front there, so it was sort of just waiting. We had to move at some stage, but it was just sort of waiting for the right time. When we moved, she got to running in a little on the last turn and then Toddy made a break. Me and Yannick got sort of caught up for a second, but once we hit the stretch, she really kicked on great." Ake Svanstedt trains Jiggy Jog S, a daughter of Walner bred in Sweden by Vestmarka AB, for owner Jorgen Sparredal Inc. This was her tenth career victory, and she has now banked C$1,250,293. She paid $6.80 to win as the 2-1 second choice. "It was very good. She beat them again. She's been tough mentally the last two months," said Svanstedt. "She has changed. She had been so sensitive before and needed to race on a helmet and sensitive to eating food and everything. Now she's tough and she can travel a long way. She eats and feels good. She's tough mentally in the races also. "I think it's the TVG [left on her potential schedule], but then she must race against older horses, so I think she's done now. She'll come back next year."
