Missouri sports betting is prepared to get underway on Dec. 1, and the state has confirmed that a variety of sportsbooks will be available for customers when the market opens. Voters legalized Missouri sports betting by approving Amendment 2 on the November ballot last year. On Dec. 6, 2024, it was confirmed that the ballot initiative passed, by just 2,961 votes (1,478,652 to 1,475,691). The Missouri Gaming Commission (MGC) announced for the first time the state’s intent to launch on Dec. 1 on May 15. It was able to maintain that target in the following months and, on Sept. 12, closed the window for applicants who wanted to join the Dec. 1 launch. Approved sportsbooks are allowed to begin registering customers on Nov. 17, two weeks before the official MO sports betting window opens at 12:01 a.m. on launch day. It was granted this opportunity by the MGC ahead of FanDuel, as it made the case that it was a worthy recipient because of its customer-first approach. Circa sports doesn’t have a large customer base, but it is known as the “sharpest” sportsbook, offers favorable odds, and doesn’t impose many of the same restrictions as other books.
