Bellafina was second in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint at Santa Anita last November, her best result in the second half of 2019. One option is the Grade 2 Great Lady M. Stakes, a $200,000 race at 6 1/2 furlongs on July 4 at Los Alamitos. “I think we’ll keep her in California for now and spread her races,” Callaghan said. Callaghan said Bellafina will be considered for stakes at Del Mar in August and Santa Anita in the early autumn. Bellafina has won 7 of 15 starts and earned $1,512,975. She has won seven graded stakes, including the Grade 1 Santa Anita Oaks in 2019. Bellafina races for Kaleem Shah and the Coolmore syndicate. Coolmore purchased an interest in Bellafina following her second in the BC Filly and Mare Sprint last November.
