Lone Star Park’s late pick four on its Sunday afternoon Father’s Day program is a challenging sequence that opens with a well-matched group in a turf allowance route and includes a jumbo field of 2-year-olds for a maiden special weight. The forecast calls for a high of 93 degrees, and there is little chance of precipitation, according to The Weather Channel. Below is a look at the sequence that runs on races 7-10 and has a 50-cent minimum. 

There’s no question that Saturday’s card at Santa Anita is highlighted by the return of undefeated 2-year-old champion Songbird in the Grade 2 Summertime Oaks, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t other races that may present intriguing wagering scenarios. Here are a few horses and races I’m interested in Saturday.

The Grade 3 Poker Stakes highlights a solid Saturday card at Belmont. Let’s take a look at a few potential plays.

Race 4 – Poker Stakes

FORCE THE PASS (No. 2, 5-1 morning line, 7-2 value line)

Force the Pass showed a good amount of ability and versatility as a 3-year-old last year. After going a bit off form in the late summer, he was sidelined with a minor foot problem and given plenty of time to recuperate by trainer Alan Goldberg.

All three choices in our Pick last week either got off slowly or were basically run off their feet but Our Stormin Norman did managed to scrape up to complete a $98 exacta. In fact, it was a pretty modest week all around—only two BreezeFigs 3-year-olds and two BreezeFigs 2-year-olds broke their maidens, but this happens sometimes. There are some good plays on Saturday's card, one of which looks like it might carry some sentimental value, see below. Good luck!

The return of undefeated and untested champion Songbird and the big Stephen Foster Handicap card at Churchill Downs are the major racing events Saturday.

Songbird, who was unable to start in the Kentucky Oaks due to illness, goes in the Grade 2, $200,000 Summertime Oaks at Santa Anita. This will be Songbird’s first start since stretching her perfect record to seven races in the Santa Anita Oaks on April 9.

This 2-year-old filly showed class in winning her debut. Raced inside, took dirt, split foes, and powered away. Sired by More Than Ready, this filly has a big future for a top stable.

Beyer: 60
He was checked between rivals near the lead heading into the turn in a six-furlong conditioned claimer. His next start will be his third after a long layoff, and it could be a peak performance if things go his way.

The meet comes to a close, meaning the money must go out, so there’s some appeal to Sunday’s pick six at the Albany,Calif., track.
