Three things you should know before betting the Rose Bowl:

1. Ohio State is 3-2 straight-up and 1-4 against the spread in games played on a neutral field under head coach Ryan Day, with the Buckeyes having outscored opponents by an average of only 2.4 points over the five games. Utah, meanwhile, is 4-2 both straight-up and against the spread as a neutral-field underdog under head coach Kyle Whittingham, outscoring opponents by an average margin of 4.2 points over the six games.

2. Utah is 6-2 both straight-up and against the spread over its past eight games against Big Ten opponents. The lone common opponent shared by the Utes and Buckeyes in 2021 was Oregon, which beat Ohio State 35-28 as a 15-point road underdog in September. Utah was a 3-point favorite for both of its games against the Ducks, winning 38-7 at home in November and then 38-10 on a neutral field in the Pac-12 title game in early December.

3. Among 130 FBS teams, Ohio State was one of only six to complete better than 69 percent of its pass attempts during the 2021 regular season. Utah is 7-0 both straight-up and against the spread since the start of the 2020 season when facing a team that completes at least 62 percent of its pass attempts. The Utes have outscored such opponents by an average margin of 24 points over the seven games.
