Three things you need to know before betting on Iowa State-Oklahoma:

1. Oklahoma is coming off of a 27-14 loss to Baylor as a 4-point road favorite last week, while Iowa State has now lost two of its last three after a 41-38 loss as a 12.5-point road favorite against the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Now, these two teams meet in a regular-season game in Norman, which has to have Matt Campbell's group feeling somewhat confident in its ability to right the ship. Since the start of 2016, the Cyclones are 5-0 against the spread in regular-season meetings with the Sooners. The only game in which they didn't cover in this head-to-head series since then was in last year's Big 12 Championship, when Oklahoma won 27-21 as a 5-point favorite in a game that easily could have gone either way.

2. Since Campbell took over at Iowa State, the Cyclones are 9-5 straight-up and 11-3 against the spread when coming off two losses in their previous three games. Iowa State is also 9-6 against the spread when playing as a road underdog under Campbell. If that's not enough to have you leaning towards the Cyclones, it's also worth noting that the Sooners are 0-2 against the spread against teams that average 42 or fewer penalty yards per game under Lincoln Riley. That means that Oklahoma could run into trouble against an Iowa State team that doesn't make a lot of mistakes.

3. While last year's Big 12 Championship went Under the total, eight of the last nine regular-season meetings between these two teams have gone Over. The Over also happens to be 8-1 when Oklahoma has played against teams with winning percentages between 60% and 75% since the start of the 2019 season. The average amount of points scored in those games has been 76.7 points per game. With the way these two teams are playing defense this season, it wouldn't be too surprising if this turned into a shootout.
