The featured $150,000 Classic is once again headed by Star Guitar, one of the great Louisiana-breds of all time, attempting to win a Louisiana Champions Day race for a record fourth consecutive year. The defending winner of the Classic also won the Sprint in 2008 and the Juvenile in 2007.

Three $100,000 stakes for American Quarter Horses start the day. The first Thoroughbred stakes of the afternoon, the $50,000 Starter Handicap, is the fifth race at 2:07 p.m. CST.
