Several other stakes contests, headlined by a pair of Pennsylvania Sire Stakes showdowns for rookie pacing males, were on the undercard of Saturday's Delvin Miller Adios at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows. In the first $69,982 PaSS flight, Superchamp Hanover (Matt Kakaley) cut the quarter in 27 seconds and then yielded to sit in the pocket behind even-money favorite Melillo (Yannick Gingras). Melillo went on to the half in 56 2/5 and the three-quarters in 1:24, but Superchamp Hanover rallied to his outside in the lane and got by him on the wire to prevail by a nose in 1:51. Al Papi (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.) was third. Travis Alexander trains Superchamp Hanover, a Sweet Lou gelding bred by Hanover Shoe Farms, for owners Fiddler's Creek Stables LLC. and Alexander Racing Stable LLC. He has two wins and a third from three outings, has put away $45,591 and paid $28.40 to win. Thai Hanover (Jeremy Indof) hit the quarter first in 26 3/5 in the other $69,982 tilt, then gave way to a move by Apocalypsebluechip (Dexter Dunn). Apocalypsebluechip was in front before the half went up in 55 3/5 and continued to show the way to three-quarters in 1:23 2/5 as Ain'tplayinnice (Dave Palone) attacked from first-over and was tracked by Frantic Hanover (Tim Tetrick). Ain'tplayinnice managed to wear down a stubborn Apocalypsebluechip in the stretch, but Frantic Hanover charged by both of them, with his 26 4/5 final kicker carrying him to a half-length triumph in 1:50 4/5. Ain'tplayinnice wound up second and Apocalypsebluechip checked in third. A Stay Hungry colt, Frantic Hanover was also bred by Hanover Shoe Farms and was sent out by trainer Ron Burke for owners Burke Racing Stable LLC., Brad Grant, Knox Services Inc. and Weaver Bruscemi LLC. He has won both of his tries, has banked $49,991 and returned $8 to win. ► Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter Four Arden Downs dashes - one for 3-year-old trotters of each sex and a pair for 2-year-old filly pacers - were also held.
