Analysis (by Randy Goulding)
Strengths: He has a big kick and could be making a strong move in the stretch when some of the horses that have been trying to keep up with Big Brown during the early stages of the race will likely be fading. His fourth to Behindatthebar in the Coolmore Lexington was better than it looks and with a clean trip he probably would have made it interesting.
Weaknesses: This will be his first try in a Grade 1 and considering that he is still eligible for entry-level conditions, this is a pretty ambitious spot. Not sure how the pace scenario is going to play out, but his lack of speed is a big concern, and more than likely he is going to be left with too much to do. He will also need to dramatically improve his career-best Beyer Speed Figure of 95 to make any kind of impact.
Strategy: Jockey Robby Albarado really doesn’t have any options other than to hope some kind of duel develops up front and that it takes it toll on the horses involved in the early and middle part of the race.
Value: If Big Brown runs his race, nobody in this field is going to be able to warm him up. Racecar Rhapsody appears to be coming into this in peak form and could sneak into the trifecta or superfecta.
