Pedigree Profile (by Frank Mitchell)
Pedigree: Like his sire Southern Halo, More Than Ready has had his most notable successes with his Southern Hemisphere offspring. In fact, Southern Halo established himself as such a dominant force in South American racing that he shuttled to Kentucky for several seasons. More Than Ready was the best of his Kentucky-sired foals, and the dark brown son of Woodman’s Girl (by Woodman) has done well with his early crops.
The broodmare sire of Ready’s Echo is European champion Kingmambo, who has become a noted sire of internationally prominent turf performers. With champions in Europe, Japan, and North America, Kingmambo is the strongest and most immediate influence for classic performance in the pedigree. The sires of the second, third, and fourth dams are classic winners Spectacular Bid, Northern Dancer, and Caro.
Racing Type: This colt is lightly raced, like the rest of this field, and there could be unexpected improvement in him, but judging from his pedigree and general racing style, the greatest scope for improvement seems likely to come with racing on turf.

Owners: Let's Go Stable |
Analysis (by Art Gropper)
Strengths: His racing style of walking out of the gate and being far back early fits well in the 1 1/2-mile Belmont Stakes. He has a lifetime improving Beyer Speed Figure pattern and prepped over the Belmont Park oval closing in the nine-furlong Peter Pan. His trainer, Todd Pletcher, is his second consecutive Belmont Stakes victory, after his first Triple Crown triumph in 2007 when Rags to Riches defeated Curlin by a head. John Velazquez got out of a commitment to ride Anak Nakal to ride this guy.
Weaknesses: He was not within range of Casino Drive in the Peter Pan, defeated by more than six lengths, and not making up any significant ground on the winner in the final yards. He will need to improve his Beyer Figure for the fifth consecutive start for any hope of the upset. He is still eligible for an N1X allowance race. If the pace comes up slow, it would hurt his stretch-running hopes of landing a share.
Strategy: He drops all the way back and makes first late run, hoping that Big Brown and Casino Drive get hooked up in an early duel, which would enhance his chances of running them all down. He was last and more than 17 lengths behind at the first call in the Peter Pan. It would not be shocking if he broke last and trailed in the early going of the Belmont.
Value: He was expected to take more money at the betting windows in the Peter Pan, but Casino Drive was pounded down to be the 6-5 favorite, then did not disappoint. You would think the bettors would respect the Pletcher-Velaquez winning combo from last year, with the longer the distance the better for this late charger. Expecting him to be in the 10-1 range.
