Look up "potential" in the dictionary, and you'll see a picture of Eddington. The strapping son of Kentucky Derby winner Unbridled has hinted at greatness this year, but has often been his own worst enemy. Doesn't change leads very well, and that has hindered his finishing kick on more than one occasion. Raced wide for most of the way in the Preakness, and looked like an also-ran at the top of the lane. It took him a while to switch leads, and once he did, it took this big fella a bit of time to get going. Still rallied decently to grab the show honors, and is learning start-by-start. Jockey Jerry Bailey flattened the tires of the Funny Cide Bus last year, but will he have enough ammo to destroy the Smarty Jones Tank? Has surprising speed for such a big horse, and doesn't have to be too far off the early pace. One day, Eddington will figure this game out, and when he does, watch out. But will it be in the Belmont?
