By NOEL MICHAELS
Portland Meadows' three-person team bound for National Handicapping Championship VI was finalized on April 18, with Washingtonians Sean Felix, Nick Lowe, and Karen Baker set to represent to the track next January in Las Vegas.
Felix and Lowe will each be making their second NHC appearance. Felix, of Auburn, Wash., won a Portland Meadows contest for the second straight year. Lowe, a Thoroughbred trainer from Ridgefield, Wash., will return to the finals for the first time since qualifying for NHC II.
Felix and Lowe both won Portland Meadows contests, and each took home $5,000 in prize money for their victories. Portland's third qualifier, Karen Baker of West Mountlake Terrace, Wash., earned $2,000 for her runner-up finish.
